We travel with our dogs frequently, and this hammock seat cover is a great solution when your dog rides in the back seat. We used this in our older Soul so our 75 lb German Shepherd could travel comfortably. We use rectangular duffle bags which set nicely on the floor behind the front seats, and the rest of our gear in the rear hatch.
It also works well in the Outback, but 3 or 4 years later, the waterproof backing is flaking off. That said, for the amount of use we've had out of it, and the fact that our dogs have been able to settle in the back seat during long trips, I still feel it was a good investment and I will definitely be replacing it with another one.
It is very easy to clean - it goes in the washer, but hosing it off works just as well, and it dries quickly in direct sunlight. When one of the dogs had an accident last month, water wipes got it way cleaner than I expected and we were able to continue on until we reached our destination.
The side flaps are handy to keep door pockets and armrests clean. Make sure you adjust them through an open window after the pup is loaded. And if you have rear-seat Heat/AC vents in the center console, make sure you don't block them.
It does keep the dog from poking her head between the front seats, and she likes to rest her head so she can still see out the front window.
