2011 Club Car DS 48volt (IQ, like the Precedents) , it is modified and will hit 26+ mph... in a community that has a lot of carts,beach, etc... some local kids had the standard key and stole it, and others, for a 2 hour joy ride,. Cops Called, kids busted, and yep, Felony busted !! This key will stop that silliness. It was very easy to install....HOWEVER !!!! Put your cart in TOW mode, or disconnect - neg battery cable, in a DS Cart, when you pull the dash, the key switch can arc on the aluminum trim, not good. Take your time and pay attention, install is super simple, and worth it...Stealing a golf cart is a Felony ! Spoiled brats and rich parents panicking...Customers cart is safe now...

My use for the product is to add a level of security against theft by changing from a "keyed alike" condition as per the Golf Cart Manufacturers provide in their production. Additionally, the distributors do not change the "keyed alike" condition. This is understandable...who ever heard of golf cart getting stolen while on the golf course. However, golf are driven in public places as well. Therefore, I ordered a key switch expecting a unique key, or an uncommon key. The number stamped into the keys to the switch that I received is: "1A" which makes me wonder about "uniqueness" or "uncommonness" Maybe every cart burglar has a "1A" key??
