Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL Backpacking Tent, 3 Person (Olive Green)

Key features
- •FULLY REDESIGNED - One of our best-selling, full-featured, ultralight backpacking tents, the Copper Spur HV UL series just got better with new features inside and out, proprietary materials that are stronger and lighter, and hardware that makes setting up even easier
- •AWARD-WINNING COMFORT - New awning-style vestibules expand covered living space; great for both drizzle and sun protection. The double zippers provide multiple access options; great for minimizing wind driven rain or snow getting into your living room. The UL2, UL3, & UL4 feature two doors and two vestibules.
- •STORAGE AND MORE - New 3-D bin 'mezzanine' in the foot provides massive, off the floor storage; Oversized ceiling pocket in the head provides great additional storage space; Media pockets provide clean earbud cord-routing from phones or other devices. Includes multiple interior loops for attaching Big AGnes gear lofts, accessories, and mtnGLO Tent & Camp Lights (not included). Also includes 8 DAC superlight aluminum J stakes and 4 awning guylines.
- •A BETTER SHELTER - New proprietary tent corner construction with unique TipLok Tent Buckle streamlines tent set up by combining three functions: secure pole-tip capture, rainfly attachment and tensioner, and stake-out loop. This buckle has a keyed hole so the pole tip locks securely into place during setup, and hinged design stabilizes structure by equalizing forces between the tent body, rainfly, and ground stake.
- •ULTRALIGHT STRENGTH - New proprietary ultralight nylon double rip-stop; mixed denier fabric offers extra tear strength and puncture resistance without adding weight. New pre-bent span pole coupled with the 4-way high-volume hub design increases strength, stability, and shedding of rain and snow while creating optimal livable space where you need it most.

The Best Tent for backpacking/camping!
Jim E. Anderson✓ Verified Purchase•October 9, 2023
I love this tent! It is light, easy to setup and take down. Very well designed. I also bought the compatible footprint for it. That was a very decision because the tent integrates with the footprint adding greater stability. There was plenty of room for me with my 6 foot 4 inch frame along with my backpack. I slept alone in the tent. However, it would be good for two adult persons. Fitting three adult persons would certainly be a challenge.
If you want a good tent with EASY ACCESS....

I hate most backpacking tents...they make you get in the end of the tent making you back either in or out. This baby has 2 side exits ... SO nice!! Plus it's pretty quick and simple to get set up, even in low light. No, it's not cheap. YES it's worth the money. NO it's not a cold weather tent.... it's a 3 season tent unless you're masochistic. It DOES breathe quite good so I haven't had issues with condensation in it and in hot weather it vents good.
best design for ease of pitching, good weather resistance, best design for usable space

Big Agnes Copper Spur series was and still is the best designed tent for ease of pitching and usable space for the footprint. It is good in foul weather if properly pitched. It needs 3 more stakes than it came with to properly pitch the fly against heavy wind. This version is 3/4 lb lighter and a tad smaller, and definitely feels more delicate (less durable) than my original but I prefer the new door zipper design, the sewn in overhead mesh storage, reflective guy lines, color coded straps and poles. All in all Big Agnes does great attention to detail in the Copper Spur series. My wife and I are 5'5" and 130 lbs range. I think large people would find it too small.
Nice upgrade! Converted a 2 man tent user.

I have to say I was apprehensive about getting a 1 person tent. I have tried other brands and even the original copper spur ul1 and was not a fan. I just never seemed to have enough room in 1 person tents. However, Big Agnes got it right with this model! First off I love the new fabric and the olive color. Nice natural look for the outdoors. To give an idea on space, I'm not a slim guy. I'm 5'11" 215lbs with a wide, long torso and yet I felt nice and cozy! I had plenty of foot and head room (always a problem in other tents) and my klymit luxe sleeping pad (27" wide) filled out the tent floor perfectly. There was no slippage with the pad on the tent floor. Also the pockets inside the tent are awesome. The 3d pocket hanging over the foot of the tent is perfect for stuffing a down jacket. The multiple gear loops are also a great feature. Nice for hanging your watch, mini lantern etc. The HV walls of the tent make it feel more spacious and my shoulders and head did not hit the top of the tent like other 1 person models. Although, I'm used to the width of 2 man tents, it felt nice and cozy inside the HV model and I did not feel crammed. The width was more like a hammock. However, If you want more liveabilty and space for gear etc. I highly suggest going with the 2 man. But if your looking for a smaller set up that takes up less pack space and weight definitely go with this!
Love the tent But...

Love the tent. Great hight and room for 2 plus some gear. Great vestibule and light weight. Great places for gear and well thought out vestibule, BUT...
After 1 use, the clip that holds one of the tent poles snapped in half. This is an oversight in the tents design, and for the money I spent on this tent, a parts failure like this is unacceptable.
The manufacturer is going to sent another clip, but that'll cost $30+ in shipping and I'll have to take the tent to a seamstress to have the repair done. The material the clip is made of is a fairly soft plastic. BIG AGNES, PLEASE REPLACE THESE WITH A LIGHTWIGHT ALUMINUM PART. Possibly a slip on, or clip on plastic replacement if aluminum is too costly.
