I go to my grandkids' soccer games and here in the South, that means sitting in the hot sun for hours at a time. I tried using a conventional rain umbrella but too much sun came through. This isn't the prettiest umbrella you'll use, but it sure does block the sun with its black vinyl lining, and the white exterior reflects the sun further reducing the heat. AND it also protects from rain so you're covered come rain or shine. Perfect size for one person sitting with other parents and grandparents watching the soccer games.
