Very nice, but no on off switch. You turn it on by twisting the top. Word of caution, its bright, dont look at the light part when twisting it on! Lol the other surprise is the plastic flag is odd. I expected it to be a surface marker like divers use to be visible in the water, but instead its a flag. Not sure how useful a flag is if my boat is sinking or disappeared into the sea. But, the battery powered flare is very nice and appears it would float.

I carry this in my boat so that I do not have to maintain signal flares (since those expire). This is well built and simple to use and it's USCG compliant. There's nothing much else to say about it.
