Great for small projects

If you're doing small pieces then these are a great option but if you're looking to do some serious carving don't bother with these. The implements are far too small for hard work.
Great Pumpkin detail carvers. Great on wax. Pretty good on balsa. Not so much for hardwoods.

Handle size is great for kids, or people with small hands.
Unlike some other cheap 'carving' sets, the blades are well fixed in the handle, and don't bend under normal use.
Test cuts on construction grade 2x4 are OK. Not great, but OK. And at this price, if used by kids (or child like adults) and get messed up, not a big loss. Not up to the task of carving on maple burls or osage.
Have not had a chance to try it on pumpkins yet, but worked very well on a block of machinable wax (after a brief visit to the sharpening stone and strop, though not strictly necessary).
The included card with "get a second 12-pc set free by scanning this QR code" ... wants to open facebook messenger on my phone. So that 'offer' is up to your personal comfort level with Mark Zuckerberg (not gonna happen on MY phone).

These handy little woodworking tools aided and carving Artful pumpkins. They fit hands perfectly. The blades are relatively sturdy. Definitely follow the directions of keeping them clean and adding a coat of oil to keep them from rusting for from deteriorating. Easy to use the blades and Spoon type tool was very precise. An excellent value for the money. We will use these also for other type of food decorstipns carvings for holidays to come. I bought three sets. Each one of them was quality control perfect. Would highly recommend. Do note that some of them are quite sharp so do take extra care not to have an accidental with them and supervise inexperienced Carvers and small children.

Nice product for beginners if used with proper soft wood such as basswood or pine. Use hard wood and the chisel heads will broke easily.
