- •Back draft damper is made for insertion into inch ventilation ducts. The backflow damper RKI opens and closes automatically. It has a strong spring and can be installed either horizontally or vertically. The flap is suitable for retrofitting, since it is completely inside the duct
- •Damper has 2 valves, designed for use in air conditioners (AC), dryers, exhaust, extractor or range hoods, heating ducts, vents and other HVAC applications
- •INSTALLATION: The backflow flap is installed by inserting it into the ventilation pipe until it stops. The position of the spring should be horizontal for horizontal installations so that it can open and close optimally. The Backdraft shutter is installed so that the damper blades open only in the outflowing air direction.
- •The backflow flap opens and closes automatically at low air volumes. It has a smooth-running spring and an internal foam strip to keep the blades from rattling and can be installed horizontally or vertically
- •Back draught valves can be inserted into ventilation ducts which are flexible or non flexible. Cannot be used with plastic ducts as the sizes are different.

Living in the deep south, after installing a new kitchen exhaust fan the down-draft from the attic was overwhelming. Especially since kitchen exhaust fans are located right over the stove and it is canning season! This item is wonderful. There is no more down-draft at all and combined with my wonderful new exhaust fan my kitchen is comfortable again. I bought a new house and the builders didn't install a damper so in the winter I could feel cold air coming in at my stove. This was easy to install just removed a spacer from the existing exhaust pipe and put this in. All the cold air stopped this is exactly what I was missing.

I took a star off because it can be a bit difficult to install. Installation is not intuitive. You have to have experience with ductwork to assure this works properly.

I am was able to install the draft blocker in less than 15 minutes. The interior mechanics has a strong rubber seal to prevent air coming in. Great product.

When I received the damper module itself, the dampers were warped a bit so it didn't make good contact against the seal. Was able to mostly get it back to shape but not like it should be.
