Great Projector

I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. I purchased it to replace my husband's old projector that was damaged but we use it more for the kids than anything else. We plugged our Fire TV stick into it and it works great! I'm impressed with the sound volume and quality.

After well over a decade, my older brother and I bought a new projector for our household's media/theatre room. I am glad to note that the Vamvo projector is passing with high marks in this house.
I will be doing this review as a Pros/Cons list, so I will begin with the Pros first.
Pros:
Size and Quality of the Projection: This projector displays a great screen on the wall and the size of the screen is breathtaking. The quality of the screen is not deteriorated as you move the device to make the screen larger or smaller. Finally, the 1080p looks absolutely stunning with no distortion at all.
Color Accuracy: The colors of the projection are absolutely phenomenal! I tested out the colors on various YouTube test videos, and the projector passed them all. Furthermore, if you see any problems in color accuracy, the device has a settings menu where you can adjust the screen/picture properties.
Number of I/O Ports: This device offers a great amount of I/O ports for both modern day and aged technology.
With two HDMI ports and a VGA, the device will support all modern devices and in my testing both of these port types work flawlessly with my computer and other external devices.
Furthermore, the device offers an A/V port that you can use to connect composite, component, and s-video cables. All you need is the required A/V port adapter for your required cable type, and it works. The projector comes with a composite cable adapter, and luckily at my household, we had an S-Video adapter too. I was able to test out this port with my VHS and DVD device, and both worked and looked flawless on the projector.
The device also hosts a headphone jack to extend audio to an amplifier, headphone, or your surround sound system. This headphone jack works very well with no delay at all.
The device also has a micro SD card I/O, but we have yet to use this, I assume it will work very similar to the USB port.
Finally, the system has one USB input and another one USB output to charge devices. This USB input can be used to link phones or use external USB drives like flash drives, HDD's, or SSD's. The device will play any media off of these USB drives such as movies, pictures, or music. It makes it easy if you don't have access to an HDMI or have digitized VHS tapes on a USB stick. I haven't tested out the phone on it as I don't have a cable for that, but I assume that also works flawlessly.
Keystone and Focus Function: The projector has a manual keystone and focus knob to make adjustments to the projection flawlessly. They work very well and are seamless in changing the screen.
Remote Control: The device comes with a remote control that makes controlling the device effortless. The response time between the remote and device is great and accessing settings is far more easy with the remote.
Volume Control: The projector has good volume control, especially when hooked up to the amplifier, this helps with making sure the audio isn't distorted and allows for the audio to be clear and loud.
Those are all the pros of the projector that stood out to me, now for the cons of the device.
Cons:
The Projector Stand: Even though the projector stand to adjust the height of the projection works, it isn't the best method to adjust height. There is only one stand that is a little off center due to how the device is weighted. I feel that since there is one stand, it has more tendency to wobble if pressure is put on one side. Infact, when I had my VGA cable attached to the device, I had to adjust the position of the cable as the force of the cable was shifting the weight of the projector to one side. I believe this weight shift was due to the projector having to balance all that weight on the one offset stand. I would suggest the company use a two stand system in the future, and that the stands work as screws instead of using the button method so that there are more options in height preference.
The Control Options on the Projector itself: While I gave high praise for the remote control, I believe the control options on the device itself are lacking. For example, there is no menu button on the projector device whereas the remote has this function. This makes me concerned if we ever run out of battery life on the remote with no replacement batteries in the house, how will I change projector settings if I need to? It is an important feature that is lacking that I hope is fixed in the next iteration. Also, I would prefer clicky tactile buttons compared to the touch sensitive buttons being used that way I have feedback that the button is actually being pressed.
No Knob to Change Size of the Screen: On our previous projector, the size of the screen could be changed by moving the projector forward and backward OR there was a knob on the device itself that changed the size of the screen without having to move the device. This knob feature is missing from the Vamvo projector and I feel this makes the experience of the projector more frustrating. With the older projector, we could just have it sit on the projection table and adjust the size from there. Now the projector physically has to be moved, which is a bit tedious and will become annoying everytime we watch some form of media on it.
The Length of the Power Cable: You would expect the power cable to be long considering that the device has to be moved forward and backward to adjust screen size. Unfortunately, this device comes with a power cable that is barely long enough for our media room. I would have been more satisfied if it was 2-3 feet longer so that there would be more room for adjustment. I am barely able to get the right projection size with the current cable size, but many individuals might have to end up using an extension cord to get the right size.
The Menu UI: The menu system is pretty basic and it is clear that not a lot of the R&D was spent on the UI. The UI and menu work fine for what it is with little to no problems, but it could have used more effort and time to make it feel more efficient and seamless in changing settings. One problem I had was when I was adjusting the picture settings, the blue menu overlay didn't go away so that I could see the picture and adjust accordingly. It's little things like this that could use more R&D to smoothen out the experience.
Projector Fan Does Get Loud: While the loudness of the fan doesn't end up ruining the surround sound movie experience, I am a bit disappointed at how loud it does get. I was expecting a quieter device with how far we have progressed in making fans quite. It is not too much of a distraction but I would have highly appreciated a quieter system.
If I were to give the device a score, I would give it a 9/10 and I think any owner or family will be very satisfied with the device. The Vamvo projector is a wonderful media room addition that provides many ways for families to enjoy all forms of media. I believe that the benefits of the system outweigh the drawbacks of the device. The projector will bring my family years of joy and entertainment and I am truly grateful for that.
