Through the years I have used either a stand alone soldering iron or a soldering gun. Proper temperature control has always been challenging. I have been pleasantly surprised with the ultimate control over my soldering projects. A recent LED light strip project was an excellent test of the soldering station. The unit performed beyond expectations. And, the affordable price was an added plus. One of my better purchases.

This product has met my expectations. I have been using this for 9 months and finished about 30 projects. Overall this is a very good soldering station. The soldering iron holds its temperature, however it will sometimes go into sleep mode while using. When that happens all you do is shake the iron while holding and the temperature resumes to its temperature setting. Another thing that is somewhat irritating is when you switch it on and it's in error mode (display flickers). So when that happens you just toggle the switch until it resumes. Because of these peculiarities I deducted 1 star. Not a deal breaker by any means. I think you get a lot bang for your dollar. Highly recommended.

As someone who only solders occasionally, this is awesome! I always wanted one of these but could never justify the price of the big name brands. This one works perfectly! So much nicer than my old soldering iron that gave me years of service, but no control of temp, etc. This is such an upgrade. So much safer to have a holder and control of the temp. The solder spool is awesome too! I wish I had this a long time ago. Seems to be very well built and an incredible bargain.
