Right off I have to say this is a pretty darn nice lamp. It isn't overwhelmingly large, the materials seem to be of good quality and it doesn't have a "cheap" feel to it. The glass dome is solid and thick. The metal doesn't have any visible defects in form or finish. The two USB ports are a nice plus as well and the dimmable rotating switch is nice and smooth.
One thing to bear in mind however is that when you use the included lightbulb, the light goes everywhere - the dome is obviously not a shade. So if you're using this on an end table or the like, it throws light across the area. I put this on a desk and found the light coming from the side to reflect on my computer screen and shine in my eyes. Dimming would help but then it was hard to see what I was working on. So my remedy was to replace the included "edison" style bulb with a dimmable can light bulb. This did detract a bit from the lamp's retro appearance but it does a great job directing the light down while still allowing dimmability. Certainly not a dealbreaker and if my desk was bigger I would not hesitate to get a second lamp to complement the first. I will likely get the matching floor lamp though to round everything out.

Flickers at highest wattage

I like the style and the brightness of the lamp however it flickers at the highest wattage when you have the dimmer turned all the way up. I also had to buy a replacement bulb because the one that came with the lamp was DOA. I did buy the same type and a dimmable bulb.
