I bought this unit to replace an old, wired cyclometer that gave speed and distance and not much else. I wanted more information during a ride, especially cadence numbers, and the Cycplus does this for one-third to one-sixth the cost of Garmin or Wahoo units. The Cycplus has a large screen with big numbers, which is important for my aging eyes.

The first unit I received was a dud; it couldn't get a GPS signal and so none of the features worked. Rather than return it to Amazon, I emailed Steven at Cycplus customer service. He responded to my email within a day and sent a replacement unit that arrived three days later. The new unit picks up a GPS signal just fine.

Though I can't thoroughly test the replacement on the bike because of bad weather, I can give a five-star rating for customer support.

I'll update this review after I have had a chance to ride with it and to try out speed/cadence sensors with the device.

In response to other reviews: to set the wheel circumference, there is a chart on page 36 of the manual that gives the numbers you should enter based on the type of wheel your bike has. Use the number in the "mm" column.

Update: I've had a chance to take the replacement unit out for rides. Without any sensors, the speedometer feature works pretty well. It can fluctuate a bit with the GPS signal, +/- 1 or 2 mph when it flicks but it seems to be okay most of the time. It worked OK even when I was climbing a hill at a slow speed (5-7mph).

I purchased some Garmin v2 speed and cadence sensors to use with the unit. As mentioned in other reviews, I pair the sensors to the Cycplus unit one at a time and didn't run into any problems. With the speed sensor the speed reading fluctuates less. One issue is that with all the measurments - speed via GPS or sensor, cadence - there's a lag of about a second or two between the time you do something on the bike and the time it is reflected on the Cycplus display. That's just the nature of the way these things work, they need to measure you over time a bit in order to figure out how fast you're doing it.

I tried out the smartphone app on a Google pixel phone. It was able to sync with the Cycplus unit and download the ride data without issue and display the ride data on my phone screen. The GPS route recorded by the Cycplus is of comparable accuracy as the same ride recorded via my phone GPS - sometimes one has a momentary glitch the other one does not, and vice-versa. The elevation gain also seems fairly consistent across rides.

The smartphone app will also sync your ride data with Strava or TrainingPeaks (those are the only two apps supported), but I haven't tried this out.

For my purposes of seeing data during a ride, and recording routes for later review, the Cycplus unit is working well so far.

I am very pleased with this product. Easy to install and set up,once you figure it out. Got the speed, time,and miles,basically that is all I needed. I did not need the heart monitor nor the pedal sensor, or altitude measure. A very good product at an affordable price. Thecon, down loading it on the two apps. Number one wanting too much personal information, and stated will share with a third party. If you do not grant permission you will be denied the app. This product works well and is accurate. I have order the other one with less features on it.

Been using this for about 9 months now and it is great. I found that the traditional wireless speedometers didn't work on my E-bikes due to the interference from the bike's electronics with the wireless signal from the wheel transmitter. I was happy to find that GPS reception was uneffected. I usually ride to/from work as weather permits. That's about 12 miles round trip and at least one of those trips is in the dark. The display lights up in the dark (according to the time), so you can always see the display without having to push a "wake up" button, like most others in this price range. The battery seems to last forever. I usually recharge my lights after about 2.5 to 3 hours of use, but I still have 3 of 3 bars on this after that time. Not fond of the "rubber band" type of mount that comes with it, but added an aftermarket mount (this uses the same mount as a Garmin Edge) and soon added those mounts to some of my other bikes, so I can simply snap it on and off whichever bike I'm riding that day. That mount also has a GoPro mount on the bottom. Finally, the display is huge, so I can read everything with no problems. I would definitely recommend to others.

There is a lot of bang for the buck in these Cyclplus computers for recreational cycling. I was upgrading from a wired Cateye and was surprised to see how closely GPS distance traveled matched the Cateye, as well as the speed indication. For my purposes, accuracy is such that I saw no need to put a speed sensor on the axle, but I did add heart rate and cadence monitors. A couple things I learned: 1) using the provided XOSS software, I made the mistake of pairing the additional monitors. Just pair the computer only, and the data from the sensors will download fine. 2) In my case, I found that I had to turn off Bluetooth pairing on my phone while riding, or I got strange screen readings. Your mileage may differ. I purchased a second one for my bike at my summer home. I worked with Steven, of their customer service, who was very helpful with my difficulties, and he even spiffed me an extra HR cable when I left mine at my winter home.

Editing to add that this company has excellent customer service. They sent out a new computer. This time we will secure it with a couple of rubber bands to provide some extra protection.
Bought this for my son as a birthday gift and it flew off his bike on second ride, only to immediately be run over by a car. The mount needs improvement. Major disappointment.
