This rope is thick and perfect for a medium+ size dog to enjoy without immediately destroying it. We've had it a couple weeks now with several times a day chewing and playing tug with minimal fraying, mainly on the knots from heavy chewing. If you've thrown away several ropes, you should at least get a good bit of use from this one.

My 8 month old Great Dane loves this. It is very heavy and sturdy. I did play tug of war with her and found that it was safer to hold both ends. I held one end and the knot on the other end hit my finger and left a big bruise when she swung her head. All in all- this should last longer than any other she's had. It's definitely made for a large dog.
