Very happy to have purchased this when we had some ocean-wave flooding recently. The unit is very durable and pretty self-explanatory to use. We also had a 4" version, which was a little less useful against the waves. Better tips on use would be nice to include though.

It was initially installed on a small slope which rendered it completely ineffective; it needs to be on flat ground, and you might want to have some ballast on the back side if the water has any velocity. Filling from our hose took much longer than I expected-- nearly an hour. (That's a pro for the 4" version if it will do the job for you, especially if you layer 2-3 units horizontally.) While I know it isn't required I will have a plumber install a 1" fill valve where it is needed to simplify the process if it is needed in the future. That should allow for filling the 24' long unit in about 10-15 minutes. The unit's fill connection isn't great. Filling needs to be attended or it will leak and potentially come out as you fill.

But, once the threat was gone it was just a matter of draining it, cleaning it off, and inflating it with a shop vac to let it dry out completely for a day. Great insurance policy. Moving forward, I will supplement it with some water-activated "sand bags" at the doors, as they are much easier to deploy and would likely address 80% of the risks.

Does the job and very helpful protecting the doors from water penetration

This has been holding up well and holding the water back for the most part. Some seepage under but far less than sand bags with plastic alone. Seems sturdy. Somewhat of a hassle moving around to deal with changing circumstances but it's mainly just a matter of getting it drained and moving it. Just have to have patience. Do NOT get their adapter. It is garbage. At least the one I got is. Same for the one my buddy got. No seals in the slip joints. Leaks out of both joints something terrible. When you're already dealing with a flood, the last thing you want to be doing is adding water to it with your hose.

We bought this for Hurricane Ian. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for us but the customer service was outstanding and very helpful. We appreciate the seller reaching out to us.

doesn't keep all the water out, but nothing really can. but it does help a lot. Make sure you have it just where you want it when you fill it up because when it is full it's a pain to move, something like 1400lbs so you have to empty it at least partially which is a waste.
