This Bluetooth transmitter works well with the first headphones I tried it with (commalta E7 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones, Wireless Bluetooth - no longer available from Amazon). I then bought a second set of headphones (phonicgrid Active Noise Cancelling Headphones Over Ear Wireless headphones) that were able to pair but the sound was distorted. I tried a Bluetooth speaker that worked fine. Not sure why the second headphones did not work right-these headphones worked fine with my phone and laptop. I ended up sending the second headphones back and hope to find another set of headphones that will work.

1mii B06TX bluetooth transmitter review

disclosure: 1mii reached out and offered to let me review their product for free. however, if i wasn't personally interested in the product and hadn't already had good experiences with the company, i wouldn't have accepted. so here we are.

this is a review of the 1mii dual bluetooth transmitter device.

last thing first: this device is well worth the money for what it does, and what's in the box. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a bluetooth transmitter for a stationary source.

received the box, efficiently packaged. the device itself is well designed, the chassis is multiuse for them, as i have a 1mii bluetooth receiver which clearly uses all the same body work. it's lightweight, without feeling chintzy. nice rubber feet. ports on the back are well laid out, and clearly marked in the gloss on the plastic, rather than silk screen or stickers applied. love this. the antennae on the back are stout, and the joints are pleasingly stiff friction linkages. the instructions included are clear and concise. and an added bonus, i now use the box to hold the small pile of various usb cables i keep handy for attaching things to the computer.

plugged in to my windows desktop using the optical cable, which is included in the box. i consider this an extra feature, and it works great. i used the included usb cable to power it from the computer. this turned out not to work so well, as the computer didn't supply power enough to feed the signal to the bluetooth receiver on my hi-fi system across the room. kinda faded in and out, so i used the once-again-included usb power supply and it worked great. overall, full points for including all hardware and connections needed. truly nice work.
[edit:] it occured to me, maybe the usb port was to blame for not powering the device. turns out i first tried it in a usb 2 port. being mindful and connecting to a usb 3 port, it works great. so maybe important to note, usb2 can't power the transmitter, but usb3 can.

interesting feature is that it has two bluetooth channels. B1 and B2. it's usually a straightforward process to connect to a bluetooth device. my first attempt was to the bluetooth receiver on the hi-fi system. it took all of 60 seconds to figure this part out, and suddenly my problem of connecting my computer audio to my main floor speakers was solved wirelessly. for this i am grateful, thank you 1mii.

but that's not enough, right? i have other bluetooth devices, and this review isn't about me. so how about the dual channel feature?

headphones. i use a pair of adidas headphones (also an amazing product) and the adidas in-ear phones (not such an amazing product) concurrently. this posed the most fiddly problem in testing. getting both headphones connected and playing the audio stream. it's one of those things that's kinda difficult to know exactly how it came to work, but after a few attempts of pairing and unpairing, both devices did work at the same time. took maybe five minutes. after all, i think if a device is paired but not playing the audio, powering the transmitter off and on solves the problem.

so also tried an ultimate ears megablast. (not such an amazing product. the speaker sounds good, but the electronics or maybe firmware are really not good.) this gave me the most trouble, but i have a hard time with that speaker most of the time. not blaming the 1mii for this. it did work, just didn't like to stay paired. again, blaming the speaker.

so i've had the 1mii transmitter for a week. and have used it several times to play music on the computer thru the hi-fi, via the 1mii receiver. this combination is most excellent. thinking of getting another 1mii receiver so i can pair another stereo with this device.

what else is there of interest? bluetooth range? well bluetooth isn't magic. there's limitations here. it doesn't work well around corners or down the hall. my house is pretty small so i can't really test range with clear line of sight. i can say, my headphones don't lose signal until i'm well out of sight, over a room away. simply cannot complain about this.

overall, i love this thing. i should add, i once had a problem with the *receiver*, where it wouldn't pair with anything after having it for only a short time. so i contacted 1mii support, and they had me do something or other with holding buttons and such, like a factory reset, and the problem resolved. that very pleasant experience is largely why i agreed to do this review. it's not just the device, but the support from the company. golden.

a note on sound quality. i'm not an audiophile. but i love music. sometimes very loud music. comparing directly the bluetooth sound to that direct from cd, (tool - fear inoculum, outstanding production quality, comparing cd audio to mp3 files provided directly by the artist) it's obvious the bluetooth doesn't sound as good. life is full of compromises. if i had a long enough cable to connect the computer direct to the hi-fi, i'd compare the bluetooth to copper directly. sadly i don't. regardless, it's bluetooth. it has limitations. but whatever, for most applications i reckon it'll work just fine.

bottom line: anyone who needs what this device claims to do shouldn't hesitate in picking one up.

Genuinely like this BT transmitter. While I only used one channel it provides all that I had hoped. Goal here was to sync a plugged in JBL speaker cube for someone hard of hearing. They can hold it to their ear and adjust volume on the speaker. As I connected the Xmitter to the optical out of the TV the xmitter does not play a volume control function but does sync and stay as such allowing the Rxi g speaker to do the work

Just what I needed. Our new Sony TV has Bluetooth but using it to connect a headset turns of the TV's speakers. By using the optical output from the TV as an input for the Bluetooth tx'er, I am able to use my wireless headphones and still get audio to the speakers. My actual rating should be 4.6 stars. The only unit I have to pick is that it may take a minute or two to connect the headphones to the transmitter. I liked this product enough to buy a second one for an older LG set that doesn't have Bluetooth. Great product for the price.
