These are being used on short wave radio recievers and just don't do the trick. I would say that someone that wrote the description for these had minimal knowledge of bandwith characteristics when it comes to antennas. I literally get better reception from a paper clip.

So, I found I needed multiple scanners and by default- multiple scanners capable of analog and digital radio reception.
I found these- bought them since they came in a pack of 2. The come with the standard female RCA - male BNC ( push then twist to lock) connector.
The magnetic mount is small and I would not use it on moving vehicles ( by itself) unless you can change to a stronger magnet.
The antenna is small but is able to handle ( reasonable) manipulation.
Reception is good, no detectable interference by using additional antennas nearby with multiple frequencies and formats being received.
The price is not bad either.

Good antenna, not so good base

The media could not be loaded. Antenna works great, it really works but I had to glue the metal part of the base together and use 3m double sided tape to secure it to the roof. Running the wire under the car's AM/FM antenna also helps it stay in place. The cord is just barely enough to reach the HT. Cable is small but it's seams to still work well. 4 Stars but just go ahead a buy some real 3M tape and super glue for the base metal plate. I also grounded the cable for the best reception. I can hit repeats 18 miles away with an 8 watt radio on VHF and 10 mile away on UHF! No amp"¦

Improved reception especially on the VHF High frequencies. Hearing stations on VHF unable to previously hear. Mixed reviews on UHF frequencies. No improvement on the Low Band frequencies. Using in doors on BearCat 15X. Worth a try and leaves a small antenna foot print.
