Keeps my DSLR dry, even with a telephoto lens attached.
Ross Binkley✓ Verified Purchase•August 11, 2023
I tried this out both in light rain as well as in heavy rain (around 1.5 inches per hour rainfall rate, according to the gauge that was right beside me at the time) and it kept my DSLR and my hands dry in both situations.
It has two holes in the side that you put your hands through to hold the camera. The back is transparent and I could both see the LCD screen on my camera well, as well as see clearly through the viewfinder through the transparent plastic backing of this cover and was able to easily take shots. I could also adjust the zoom of my telephoto lens and press buttons on the camera body without a problem.
The bottom has a large zippered hole that you use to insert the camera. It zips up from both sides, which is nice, as you can zip it up around the straps if you have a camera strap attached.
With a 300 mm telephoto lens attached to my DLSR, the lens glass did get a bit wet in the heavy downpour just because of rain blowing in on it, but there's not much that can be done about that situation. The lens body and camera body, however, remained dry, as did my hands.
I wish I had had this years ago for taking pictures while keeping my camera dry in places like the mountainous windward parts of Kauai and the Big Island where the chance of light rain/drizzle showers on any given day is near 100%.
The end of the sleeves for both of your hands as well as the lens have straps that can be cinched down to close gaps to prevent water from blowing in and, in the case of the lens, to prevent the end of the sleeve from falling down in front of the lens.
The design is simple, but it seems to be well thought out and accomplishes the task of keeping a camera both dry and usable well.
The picture shows what it looks like with my D3400 inside the cover, visible through the transparent plastic back/top portion of the cover.

Sort of good

If you plan to use a tripod and definitely plan to use a big lens, this is for you.
If you have a small-medium lens, the plastic covers will work wonders for you.

Got My Camera Weatherized Now

This camera rain cover is imminently functional and easy to deploy. It's made of fairly strong poly material with well-made zippers and with viewing areas that are crystal clear. The openings for the camera lens and the hands of the operator are easy to adjust and provide good protection from the elements for your device. While I won't assume that my camera will remain bone-dry and unaffected during a full-scale hurricane, I am confident that I can take outdoor shots in light to moderate rain or snow once it's properly protected with this rain-cover.
Great Protection for your camera

This cover offers generous coverage protecting my camera in the rain
I like being able to put my hands directly on the camera when the cover is on.
