It worked for me, kinda…

First thing as soon as I opened the box? I could clearly see it was a used part that someone else tried to install onto their system, but didn't.. I paid for a "New" one, & did NOT opted for the "Used" option under it"¦ Soooooooo, shouldn't I be getting like a $5.00 refund because you decided to send me a used one?
Besides that, it kinda works for my mini Kobalt router station I have, & that's because of the Velcro tape that is stuck to the bottom of the table, to keep the suction mouth stuck to it.. If you have a wooden table, or a router table that doesn't have screws sticking out of the bottom of it? You should be able to use some super glue to get it on there really good.
But that's my biggest problem I'm having with this system"¦ The Velcro isn't a very effective way to keep the rubber mouth sealed against the bottom of the router table, but??
This is a great place to start! All the other components fit, so I just have to redesign the mouth piece to fit under the table. Once that is done, it'll work amazingly. It already kinda does..
I ran a few test pieces through to just to see, & it was collecting everything on top & bottom, like the others? There was just a small amount of dust being pushed off the end.. It definitely catches about 80% of the dust created so I feel it's worth it, if you can get the system to work on your table.
Hope this helped..

I had read all the reviews before I bought this cup device. It's this or a big box under the router table. I wanted to maximize the storage space under my router table and the idea of a big box didn't appeal to me. A lot of reviews said they couldn't attach it or the Velcro didn't hold or just got frustrated. So I was cautious but took the chance, not that expensive. I have an early Hitachi 21/2 hp router that's mounted on a 1/2" Plexiglass plate but there was no flat surface for the Velcro ring to stick. There is a couple of lugs with tapped holes for guide rings. I cut a piece of sheet metal into a ring, leaving a couple of tags on the inside to mount on those guide ring lugs thus providing a clean flat ring to stick the Velcro's ring. The cup fits very tightly but barely touching my router chuck. You need to support the vacuum hose so the cup does not deform from the drag of the hose. Using it in combination with my fence suction, I get very little dust escaping to my table and none on the ground. Being conservative, I'd say it's 85% efficient. It's probably better than that but 85% is still better that those boxes. The trick to this device is to create a proper flat area for the Velcro ring to really stick. As you can see in my photos there's very little room between the cup and my router chuck. Not much can fall through with such tolerances. Because I had to attach that sheet metal ring, there is 1/8" gap between the plexiglass plate and the dust cup. I've done edge cuts as well as interior cuts and the dust collection was just great. Using the Router Raizer with the chuck extension, I still can raise the chuck so I can change bits above the table. I'm very happy with my router table now with completed dust collection.
Not bad, but Will need user modification

The media could not be loaded. Ended up working better than I originally thought. Helps catch a lot of chips/sawdust from making dados and sawdust no longer falls from the bottom of the router table. Also If a vacuum is attached, the airflow from the red silicone cup helps keep the router cool by drawing hot air from the motor housing (depending on how your router is designed, the motor housing needs to be vented on the spindle side, this is the case with the Dewalt Router EVS 2 1/4 HP). The cooling effect is dramatic and helps extend the life of the router. The router used to get worryingly hot when at max speed and continued cuts, but now never goes beyond warm regardless of how many cuts I do. You will need to modify this item for you specific situation. For me the most important piece was the red silicone dust cap. You might just be able to use that and your own dust collection pipes it to meet your needs. The company sells just the dust collection cup individually on their website.. Don't except it to work how it says in the manual, but with some creativity it will make a router a pleasure to use and great for home workshops to keep down the dust.
