It definitely does the job but I wish they used something different on securing the bars together.
It's just a bolt, nothing to tighten it so when you're using it the bars shake a little bit. But like I said, it does the job.

Just what we needed for my wife's rehab program

These parallel bars are perfect for physical therapy rehab for stroke patients at home. We needed these bars to continue my wife's rehab at home and these were pretty close to what we needed. I mounted the bars on a sheet of Melamine board that I had cut to 36X72 in. I probably should have cut the board to 36X76 in. to leave a bit more rollup room for her wheel chair on the entry apron but the current size works. The melamine board gives a smooth easy to clean surface.
The height adjustability works well and the welds are uniform so the unit is secure when mounted using after market screws to mount the bars to the board. The thumb screws along with the lock pins make the unit secure. Using the supplied planks is a bit insecure for our purposes but may work for others. The width of the bars probably are OK for most applications but the width is a tight squeeze to roll certain wheel chairs in between the bars. over all these bars are a good buy and are very functional.

Arrived on time. It was well packaged with step by step instructions. No tools needed. It is pretty sturdy and the added wooden base on each end really helps. My boyfriend is now able to do at home physical therapy safely!
