I fluctuate between a 7 and 11 handicap. The worst part of my game (and I'm too lazy to fix it properly) is chipping and putting. I bought the square strike thinking it was worth a try. The best part about it (by far) is that it's pretty difficult to hit it fat or thin. The hardest part is judging the distance your ball will travel. I bought the 45 degree square strike and when I play on fast greens it's hard to control the distance -- often hitting it too far past the hole. I just bought the 55 degree square strike to get a little more loft on the ball for a softer landing; maybe I'll revise my review after playing with the higher lofted club. Overall, I like the club -- well enough to buy a 2nd one!

So it works. And there will be a few times when I am really close in that Ill use it. But after I practiced with it for a while, and got a feel for the very different way it feels and is used, I practiced some longer pitches. And I did notice that the difference of the wedge meant that, when I picked up my regular pitching wedge, working with the square strike had temporarily made my use of a normal club more difficult, almost confusing. Sure, I might get used to it, but I can see now that the real use of Square Strike will be very close chips. I dont think I want to really integrate it into my game. But I will use it when Im in shallow rough and only 4 - 5 feet from the hole.
