Won’t stop Truning on and off

Tv worked great for two years now won't stop turing on and off on its own can't get it to stay on
Doesn't blink anymore
RR✓ Verified Purchase•July 26, 2023
Update 06/17/2023:
Tried HDMI input again, and it worked without blinking this time! I was confused at first, but after some digging, I learned that it was most likely fixed in an automatic firmware upgrade. I have the TV connected to wifi, so it can automatically update on its own.
My TV's current firmware is 1420 (you can see yours in Menu -> Settings -> All Settings -> Support -> Software Update). Searching online, it seems that Samsung has been automatically upgrading their customers' TVs to firmware version 1420 in the December 2022 - January 2023 timeframe. I don't know when exactly my TV was upgraded, but evidently it was sometime after I wrote my initial review, and the upgrade fixed the HDMI blinking issue for me so that I don't have the blinker complaint anymore. As of firmware 1420, it seems to not blink randomly anymore when HDMI is the input source.
I see some people online complain that the 1420 upgrade made some aspect of color or appearance worse for them, but, for me, I'm very happy with the upgrade because I really wanted to use this with a PC as HDMI input, and I can actually do that now! In fact, I'm writing this review update using the TV as a computer monitor. I just hope they don't break that again with another future update, but otherwise I'm changing my review from 3 stars to 4 stars for the blinking fix!
Original review from 12/28/2022:
Headline: HDMI is a blinker, and no USB DVD playing ...
Details:
Bought this with the intention of using HDMI to use it as a second monitor for my laptop. The result was dissatisfying: on HDMI input, this TV blinks every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. It goes black for 1-2 seconds, then continues working again. Unusable as a second monitor. Whatever.
The TV does have USB ports which I thought was nice. I put some photos and some mp4 videos onto a flash drive, plugged that in, and was able to play the photos or videos (but not both in one go) on the TV. Okay, so I can use that as a live picture frame or video player. Good.
Then I wanted to watch a movie DVD that I bought from the store. The USB port! So I put the DVD into a USB DVD drive, plugged that into the TV, and nothing! The TV does not show any options for playing the DVD. Disappointed.
Apps seem to work okay - as long as you're willing to accept whatever agreements that comes with, which probably includes them collecting some information about me but whatever. YouTube works. Samsung TV Plus seems to also work, but I haven't used it much.
Shipping for the TV was a bit more complicated than I expected. Instead of UPS or FedEx Home Delivery, the seller used Pilot Freight to ship it. The freight driver's GPS was out-of-date and took them to a Taco Bell instead of taking them to my apartment when they entered my address to navigate to me. Also, they kept expecting me to be home to accept the freight. I couldn't be home because I was at work Monday-Friday, and they don't do evening or weekend deliveries. Well, finally, after more than a week of playing phone tag with the freight company, they obeyed my request and delivered the TV to the leasing office who then was able to allow me to pick it up from there. Bit of a hassle, but it worked out in the end.
In summary, concerning the TV itself, it seems that Samsung has designed this TV more for "smart" app use (YouTube, etc.) and less for other uses. I feel like they forgot how to manufacture the HDMI input of the TV to be up to quality standards as it used to be the case with older TVs back in the day before the engineers became so busy with making TVs "smart." But HDMI?!! Why, it blinks, but who cares when you have the Samsung TV app, lol. And concerning the playback of DVDs? They didn't even bother to implement that functionality. Concerning the TVs price and the good brand, I was hoping for better. Ah well.

Quit working
Irish Girl✓ Verified Purchase•July 21, 2023
Loved the tv until it quit working. It started shutting down intermittently recently, and now it just has a black screen trying that tries to power up and just cycles on and off never turning on or even getting to a point where I can troubleshoot it. Repair forums say it's common with this model - a faulty ribbon in the power line and that it's unrepairable.
Not worth it

I bought this TV in 2021. Loved it. Picture is great. Super easy to use. Out of nowhere last night the picture went out. It's about 62 degrees in my house all year round so it's not overheated and I work all day so the TV is only on for about an hour in the morning and a few hours at night.

I would give this 5 stars but I noticed after a couple of months that it had a bad pixel . Good picture, color sharpness.
