Hard to whine back very sharp, and hard to handle without getting cut.

Thank you!! This toy is incredibly cool and fun!! I have two boys, they are 10 and 14, and this brought so much excitement and entertainment!! However, when my 14 year old released it to grab it, it started to uncoil. Unfortunately, it sliced his index finger, pretty bad. This was not his first time playing with it and is very aware of the accidents that can happen. It's been three day since the incident and still has a long healing process. He may have needed stitches but the way it's cut convinced me that they would probably just glue it. My son informed that he will continue to play with it, but thinks perhaps a glove should come with it, I know it's recommended, but more people would use it if it came with it and there would be less accidents. No part of this is to steer away a purchase, just simply making others aware that the material it's made of, can be dangerous. Again, it's an incredibly cool gadget! Just please wear a glove and be safe!!

It seems that many buyers are ill-informed about this product. Apparently it was popular on TikTok, but I bought this before knowing that. Caution is needed when purchasing this product, but it is a good product.

Cautions:
- THIS IS NOT A KIDS TOY! I repeat... THIS IS NOT FOR KIDS. DO NOT buy this for your kid if they are... say... under 16 or 17 year old.
- THIS IS NOT A WEAPON. It will not work as a weapon nor a good walking staff.
- THIS CAN BE A DANGEROUS PRODUCT. It is made of thin metal which can cut you if you are not careful. It can be accidentally opened randomly or after falling to the ground, causing it fly across a room. It can cause serious injuries to sensitive areas such as eyes and mouth.

Advice:
- Read ALL info carefully, including reviews and watch the videos on here and on YouTube before using this product.
- Although it is NOT a weapon, treat is as such. Do not leave it around children or pets. DO NOT let either end point towards anyone.
- When not in use, put it back in the plastic bag and back into the box it came with or any other secure containment.
- Wear gloves to reduce danger. I bought some finger-less yoga gloves with pads on the palm.
- USE CAUTION when closing it. Be careful of the metal edges. Point the top down and grab the bottom with your right hand. With your left hand slowly twist counter-clockwise as you slowly push down. Sometimes it will coil in an odd shape. Just press them down to straighten it. It may unravel exposing the sharp edges of the metal. You can fix this by rolling it around until it corrects itself.
- UNRAVELED METAL. I've noticed in the reviews that people thought it was broken and just threw it out. Use the method above.
- MAKE SURE you correctly secure the pin.

OVERALL
- Fun product in responsible hands.
- Useful for magic tricks or just twirly it around and doing "tricks" with it.
- The stickers can come off rather fast and I've read the same about the "paint."
- It seems slightly expensive to me, but not overly expensive.
- It can be annoying sometimes to close, but not a super big issue.
- There could be a better design, but I guess they are doing there best with the money they have.

I got this magic pocket bow staff for my nephew who is only 6, and when I realized that it could be dangerous when opening I am rethinking whether or not I can go ahead and give it to him because I'm 30 years old and it scared me when I opened it up so I can only imagine what might happen to him when he is trying to open it because I had to hold it in an awkward position to see how it opens and it's like a spring loaded telescopic magnet and it nearly hit me in my face and eye!

Half the time it doesn't want to open, the other half of the time, it spirals out of the bottom. When it does work it works as advertised. If it came down to self defense I would use it against an unarmed opponent or a knife. Don't use against bow staffs or swords.

I have received a second product and this one seems to work as intended. It doesn't spiral and it opens as Intended. My statement for self defense stands.
