Even better than a basalt geode. I got the top half of an agate nodule without any matrix at all. That being said, I paid quite a bit more for the 2 lb stone and most of the weight is in the clear rock crystal. Also, the polishing powder in some of the deeper cracks betrays the machine job.
Still, though, it's a good piece, literally nothing but crystal. Better than some of the filled cracks in rocks I see in the other reviews. The agate on the edges has interesting mossy and clear layers.

So they add some cement to act as background and base. Not a bad idea, as geods often won't stand on their own.
Comparing to what I've seen in trade shows, this is a 4/5 product. It could be 20-25% larger given the price.
