Just started using it. For the price its worth it already. Solid construction, not heavy, and the shoulder strap it comes with is cheap but a shoulder saver. This is made by MTD. Why they don't advertise that better idk. Making trimming my hedges real easy. Angle adjustment is simple. No-nonsense tool comes well greased.
Good so far

Works with my Troy bilt

This is a good attachment ideal for the average person's yard duties. It is easy to reposition and cuts as well as any hedge trimmer I have used. The only downside is that these multi-attachment machines (weed eaters, trimmers, etc) won't outperform machines that are dedicated 1 tool machines. I have a Troy bilt model that I use the weed eater attachment, blower, and now this hedge trimmer attachment. I have had very few problems with any of the attachments, but I will say sometimes the machine studders and is not always an instant connection. I.e. sometimes it runs a second before the mechanism fully catches and to activate the attachment. It has decent weight but includes a strap to help out a bit. For around $100 it was the best option for me.
longer than exppected and off by 90 degrees

As others had pointed out, the spring button that locks int a hole on the power shaft was located so that the blade was vertical relative to the upward help motor. I modified the system to make it work
Also, the length of the shaft was about 6 inches longer than shewn in the pictures. I was replacing an older model of this part which had the shorter shaft. It doesn't cause a problem other than a bit harder to balance but the shoulder strap made up for that.

How to repair if blades quit reciprocating
Joel✓ Verified Purchase•May 30, 2023
Mike trimmer plus hedge trimmer attachment work great for the first few times I used it. Suddenly, during about the third use the blades quit reciprocating. Fortunately, I repaired by simply using a 20 and 25 torx Allen wrenchs to remove the hedge trimmer assembly from the handle. Next I used a half inch socket to remove the nut in the pivot head so that I could open the gearbox and inspect the pinion gears. Next I placed the handle opening over a 6 inch socket extension and tapped the head downward with a rubber mallet to cause the pinion gear to protrude further into the gearbox. I then reassembled the gear box replaced the half-inch nut and reinstalled the assembly on the handle and the hedge trimmer attachment now works perfectly. It will be interesting to se how long my repair lasts.
