I use this bath extender several times a week and am glad that I have it. I bought the clear one, and it is starting to yellow, but I am okay with that. My only advice is to check the suction cups after each use to make sure they are facing the right way when the plastic dries. In the beginning I didn't check them and when I went to put it back on the tub, it leaked. I took it off, made sure all the suction cups were positioned correctly (because sometimes they collapse backwards), and it has worked perfectly ever since.

Bath is a form of self care for me. I love to become a people soup and melt into some nice scents, water from the hell's furnace, and salts. I'm also 5'8. When I go down for a soak, I got to squish myself into the tub and lots of my physical existence isn't covered. Most tubs are too shallow for me and thus parts of my body freeze. I can't have a proper spa day like that!

And then I found this thing.

It has positively changed my life. I can now peacefully roast in the tub with a good book. I go in the bathroom and I don't come out for an hour. My cat checks on me every now and then to assure I'm still alive. Me, the tub, and this suction thingy are in a committed weekly relationship. I must have bought this months ago now and it's still working! If only the window cat beds I've bought in the past would work so well. 10 out of 10 worth it.

Side note, look at your tub, make sure this is the right fit for the water intake you need to cover. I'm moving soon and need to go buy a new form because my next tub is different.

What an odd product, but I am so happy to have found it.

First, I love taking baths. Usually a great way to relax and unwind, I try to keep myself submerged in the warm water and listen to some music. I have never really paid too much attention to all of that previously. However, one thing that always bothered me was the size of the bathtub, as well as its design. I am 5'10", not tall by any stretch of the imagination, but cannot really stretch well in the bathtub. Thus I lie in this half-seated, weird position where a quarter of my body is outside the water (torso, knees, etc.).

One of the reason is that the bathtub as an emergency drain - located close to the inlet. This emergency drain will remove any water higher than around 4 inches from the top rim. A great mechanism that avoided many disasters, I am sure, but since it is always open, it basically removes a large volume at the top of the bathtub. One day I thought I would be clever and put some plastic bag over the emergency drain and filled it up more - it kind of worked and allowed me to fill the tub with more water. The Eureka moment came when I was researching this topic and found a full-blown, well-designed product that featured the same thing - but without the weird plastic bag hassle.

This overflow stopper is a great nifty product, that has only one function - moving the overflow higher (ideally to the rim of your bathtub). The 3-4 inches you will gain in height totally changed my baths - my body can now fully submerge, knees, torso, everything. Together with my other bath-related triad of products, this product truly changed my life.

Overall, an absolutely fantastic item. Really easy to install and remove, very unobtrusive, great design and a great way to elevate your bath experience. The only downside is that I have seen other bathtub emergency drains where this product might not be compatible - so check your bathtub before.

This works great for adding an extra few inches of water to a bath. It stays on well without leaking, letting you keep water in the bathtub that is a few inches higher than normal. The exact extra height of the water will vary depending on what overflow drain type you have, but you should see at least 2-3 inches more water.

The suction cups are a bit small and this can cause them to flip inside out when trying to attach it to the tub. It would work better if they were slightly larger. However, it is easy to flip them back to normal and get it attached. I would expect that these will eventually stop sticking because of their size, but I think it is likely to last for at least a year and at this price, that's not a bad deal. Tip: Don't press hard when attaching it to the bathtub and the suction cups won't flip inside out as easily. The water pressure when the bath is filled up will hold it in place and prevent leaks.

Some things to keep in mind:

* If your bathtub doesn't have a smooth, flat surface to connect to, this will not work for you. You need 2-3 inches of smooth, flat surface all the way around the overflow on your bathtub for this to work.

* If you have a faucet that doesn't stick out as far as a standard faucet on the bathtub, you may end up filling this with water when the faucet is used instead of the shower. You can prevent that by turning this to the side enough not to fill it up with water, but you'll lose some of the extra water height that you can get. You can avoid this by only attaching this once the shower is on and then do not turn on the faucet during the shower. This isn't necessary with a standard faucet.

Title says it all. Its rather difficult to get a water-tight seal on this. The suction cups have a tendency to invert during application, making it a bit tedious to get it applied properly. However, once you get it on right, it stays put, and does what it is advertised to do. It's also not as delicate of a seal as I thought it would be. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.
