This converter is great for our golf cart and can be used in a mobile situation. However, most golf carts are fiberglass and the battery compartment to tight. Any converter becomes hot and has a quick life. They should be mounted on the frame for heat transformation and better cooling. With that said, the extra wire it comes with is not long enough to mount the unit properly. Be careful on your wire search, count the amps you use, the voltage will not change from your current set up.

So the 30amp 36v/48v to 12v converter is the first accessory I purchase for a golf cart every time I get a different one. If you want radio's, lights, horns, or anything that runs on 12volt power. This is the link between your golf cart and the accessories. Whats great about this converter is it supplies ignition power and constant power which is great for radio memory (clock or presets). Most car stereos need 2 power wires (red & yellow). The Radio's red power wire is the main power wire for when the vehicle is in the on position. The Radios yellow wire is the memory wire for when the vehicle is in the off position it will have just enough power to keep the memory of the clock and radio presets. This converter supplies both power wires to be able to use the correct functions of the radio.

36/48 - 12v 30amp Converter Wiring Diagram:
Yellow Wire - 36/48v Main Battery Pack positive input
Green Wire - Key Switch wire. This will supply 36/48v when the key switch is in the "ON" position
Black Wire - Main Battery Pack Ground. This Will also be used to connect Accessories Ground.
Red Wire - 12v Output for Accessories when cart is in the "ON" position. Main Output!
Blue Wire - 12v Memory wire to keep memory of clock or radio presets while the cart is "OFF".

I would suggest purchasing a Fuse block & Grounding block to distribute the power and ground wire on your electric vehicle. By adding a fuse block you will be able to fuse isolate each accessory. This would be easy to distribute power to each accessory and if you have a problem with one a fuse will blow before you converter. The converter has a single fuse on the main power to protect itself.

The unit has a very slim profile to be able to mount just about anywhere.

Be careful if you own a club car ds if you happen to let the ignition key switch hit the frame then the Voltage reducer instantly shorts out...electric tape your keyswitch connections or you lose money like i did.Electricity can suck

Had to install ends to fit on the battery and then I installed a switch to turn it on and off and it works great

This product will be placed in my 48 volt golf cart. It reduces 48 volts to 12 volts for add on after market parts.
