Even Better If You Have Three Hands

Before I get into any details, it's worth noting that this is a really good product and does exactly what it is designed to do. I plan to buy at least two more.
I bought this for mounting a cable modem and thought it would take less than 5 minutes but that wasn't what happened. The first issue was that the screws are made for drywall so I grabbed a second drill so I could make a pilot hole. This solved the screw problem.
Next, it was time to mount the cable modem and this is the part where having three hands comes in handy. Holding a cable modem with one hand while adjusting two straps with the other turned out to be quite the juggling act. Yes, I dropped the cable modem at least 3 times but eventually got it strapped it.
Of course you shouldn't criticize without offering a solution so here are my recommendations.
1 - Make pilot holes if you want to use the supplied screws or use your own screws with anchors.
2a - Have someone hold the gear while you strap it in.
OR
2b - Use double stick tape to hold the gear in place on the backing plate if you're mounting it alone.
While I don't love this product, it is in fact 100% functional so the quirks are worth tolerating. As I said at the beginning, I plan to buy at least two more to mount my networking gear.

The TotalMount worked perfectly for my eero Pro 6 and network switch. My internet service comes through the garage so I needed a way to mount my gateway in the garage that is out of the way, yet is open the WiFi is least obstructed. Everything you need is in the box.
