Over the past 10-15 years, I have always found the Word Perfect suite to be superior to MSWord office suite. Certainly, the MSWord office suite offers many more options, but a lot of it is just busy work. Most of those options add a great deal of complexity without substantially improving the fundamental needs of the user. I began using Quattro Pro long before it was acquired by the Word Perfect underwriter. Unfortunately, after its acquisition of Quattro Pro; WP has done a very poor job of maintaining the original power of the Quatro Pro software; but, I still find it preferable for its simplicity to MicroSoft's Excel. If the WP underwriter's continue to ignore the maintenance of Quattro Pro's original power, then I will eventually be forced to switch to the MSWord office suite entirely. Perhaps the time has arrived, for an entirely new entry into these software categories (word and number processing). The underwriter should understand that it would have to achieve both power and simplicity; but then, simplicity that performs the required processes, without the need for relatively useless bells and whistles, is power. We are working on a new monetary system, which will have the power to replace all of its predecessors; including all word and number programs.

Since it is essentially the same program I have used for years, it is very easy for me to work with it. Under Windows it just runs a bit faster, which is nice. Why anybody who is not forced to use Word at work uses that awful program instead of this great one I do not understand.

I have been using WordPerfect X8, and really love it. (WordPerfect is so much better than MS Word!!!) However, I found than WordPerfect 2020 was just not enough better that X8 to justify the extra expense . So, I contacted Amazon, and they very generously refunded my money and I told them I would delete WP 2020 from my computer, which I will do. Sorry, Word Perfect -- I love your program generally!

This is not a huge variation from prior versions of WordPerfect, so prior users will be at home. I have both Word and WordPerfect, but prefer WordPerfect for some tasks. Its classic "Reveal Codes" feature lets you know why your document is formatting the way it is, as opposed to with Word where you're often left guessing. Also, you can do basic spreadsheet calculations within tables which makes it an nice alternative to using Excel for simple spreadsheets or spreadsheets within text documents.

I belong to volunteer groups and like to draft reports, that others avoid. Getting old is not for sissies!!
