Great starter kit, good base

For the price this is a very good and functional starter set or a solid base for which to add a few additional tools.
The files are not high carbon obviously, but then again, this entire set is not $500, which is what you'd pay for Stewmac level tools.
Search around Amazon... the string action height ruler alone is around 10 bucks, now add in a small set of files, sanding block, needle files, clippers, a small allen key set, a thickness gauge, a set of radius gauges and more... this kit is beyond worth $35.
A professional luthier would spend at least a grand on their tools but I just need this set to work on my personal guitars now & then and for that purpose... this kit is very good and functional.
Good seller communication as well.
Using this kit as a solid base... I added a 3 sided fret rocker, a long and short fret leveler, a fretboard notched straight edge, and a fret crowning file to complete my set of tools.

I never thought I would need a "˜tool kit' for my guitars. Over the decades of playing I learned how to do a very basic set up and that was about it. I bought a guitar kit and I got this kit that had the right tools to do the job correctly. Does this kit make me a professional luthier? Heck no, but between the guitar kit I am putting together and having the right tools instead of "˜making something work' for my guitars. It's a nice set. I leave the big stuff to the professionals, but for simple things or assembling a DIY kit this fits the bill wonderfully
