It is originally a roofing nailer, but it can be used with 45mm nails by modifying it to fit ordinary coil nails. Also, if you sharpen it a little more, even a 50mm nail will work very well. It uses 2.5mm thick and 50mm long nails without jamming. However, not all 200 and 300 round nails go into the magazine. It's convenient to cut it to fit and use it. We were roofing our entire house and this nail gun saved us. The convenience of not having to lug around an air hose while on the roof was so amazing. The gun was strong enough to get the job done and convenient enough that I felt confident even three stories up since I could walk around without worrying about tripping on a hose. This was more than worth the extra cost to buy the batteries and everything to go with it.

Used for vinyl siding installation, need to purchase a special tip but is a game changer for working with siding!

Gun is great,I used Dewalt nails with copper band,so I wouldn't get misfires,as someone said the cheaper steel banded roofing nails get misfires. They cost more but I didn't want to deal with misfires. Did one shed roof 16 ft by 12 feet,worked great. FYI bought the plastic 3D printed wide belt loop from Amazon,halfway thru it pulled out the helicopter from plastic retainer on right side,my fault cause I dropped the gun and the extra width and length gave the clip more force,so helical pulled out of gun. Definitely my fault,but beware ,it's not that deep and it(helicoil) is small and thin,,,oops
Actually it was a nut,not helicoil,and was on left side of gun,not rt side.
Just beware, cause it's only in plastic case and has alot of leverage,cause it sticks out,but totally my fault,because I dropped it and even think I kneeled on it by accident, so it popped off.
