I have 2 12lb dogs and the large works nice. As far as the design I think if the outside edges were thicker it would work better because when the dog stands on the edge it goes below the water level a bit, still stays up but I think that could be better. So far so good on the first pool day.

I was hesitant with such a costly purchase, especially because we have four dogs and don't have the luxury of having anything nice, but really pleased with this purchase. We take two out on the lake at a time and the large supports our pomsky (25lbs) and put lav mix (50lbs) nicely. I like that they can pull themselves on to it by themselves and it doesnt tip over or anything. We pull it up next to the boat and they use it like a ramp and can hop on and off on their own. My dogs really relax on this thing and love being on the water. We will probably buy a second one so they dont have to share anymore.
