This is the first night vision binocular I ever receive. I was so surprised when I use it in the complete darkness. I took some photos in my house and I can't wait to try outsides. I used with my dog, first one still had little light and then with 3 leves IR. Amazing isn't it! Last one is in the dark. It is easy to use and big screen is awesome. This binocular takes 8 AA baterries that will be a little heavy, I suggest if it canbe charged instead of batteries will be better.
It's Cheap

Night vision (quality wise) is expensive and for good reason. These are okay and more of a novelty than anything else. They do function and the distance is pretty close to as listed, so I can't fault them. The clarity, well that leaves something to be desired. Imagine using an old TV (say mid to late 90's) after having an HD, well that's kind of where this falls.

They are big, heavy and not really comfortable but they aren't meant to be used all the time, so I'll give a little on all that considering the price is below $300 (time of writing). Binoculars in the same price range will out do them in the day time but those can't take pictures. So considering how well they do work in the day, they aren't horrible. If you have a below $100 trail camera you know the quality I'm talking about, these are like that at night but a little better during the day.

In all I'm not sure of many real options in this range, so to me they are providing a decent product but not a great one. Just keep you expectations within reason and you'll probably be satisfied.
Works really well! Don't expect the same effects you see in the movies

This thing works really well. The design seems simple enough and the buttons/menu isn't great but still usable. It has a very basic user interface.

The actual night vision is good. It works well with things that are probably 15 to 40 feet away and anything further starts to look grainy.

This thing does not work up close though, it is a monocular so it's best for things further away.
Perfect for camping, hiking, hunting, etc.!

These night vision binoculars have quite a bit packed into them and in my opinion a great value for what you get. Opening the package you'll find a carrying case, nigh vision binoculars, carrying strap, usb cable, video cable, lens cleaning cloth, micro sd card, and owners manual. It features a 4" display with a viewing port that has an oval shape, more on that later. The zoom on it is good, however, for close range it might be a bit disorienting at least at first. The zoom is stated to be optical 3.5-7x., which optical is going to be a much better quality than digital in my opinion. It says that it has a stated range of 1300ft which is quite far, and multiple adjustments using the buttons on the unit to compensate for surrounding environment light. Trying out the night vision of course I was totally blown away that for this price point it works as well as it does. One thing that I noted was that even with the IR or night vision off the low light ability of the camera/lens system was pretty spot on. I was able to make out and see quite a few objects with very minimal light. With the provided micro sd card you can snap photos and also record video, which can be downloaded to the pc using the supplied cable. You'll notice that depending your distance you'll need to use the manual adjustment to get the image to focus as they are not autofocusing. I did note in the manual that there is a power saving mode and it appears to shut the unit off after inactivity based on your settings. My only complaints hence why docked this a star was due to the viewing port and its shape, along with the battery setup. I would have liked to see the viewing port conform or be shaped to your nose/face to a degree, the oval shape is a tad uncomfortable in my opinion. As far as the batteries are concerned - I feel like they could have included rechargeable batteries, even if that meant slightly increasing the price. I don't have a solid idea yet of how long the 8 AA batteries will last, however, I will suggest having backup's just in case or spring for a set of rechargeables if you don't already have them. The display does show you battery life, however, it doesn't give you an estimated time to depletion. I like the fact that these can be worn around the neck and or affixed to a tripod - this makes it very handy if you like to spend your time outdoors. I could see these being used for many different activities including but not limited to camping, animal watching, hiking, hunting, surveillance, etc. If you're in the market and don't have a large budget, give these a try and I think that you'll be surprised with the results!
IR vision works but treat it like a toy

You really do get night vision out of these goggles. It's not the green vision like you see on military movies but rather the gray night vision of infrared security cameras. I think these goggles are simply a modification of IR security cam technology into a different form. If you've seen video of an IR cam, you have an idea of what you're going to get.
-Resolution does not seem that great so don't expect to pick out faces or license plates. It's much worse than my security cams which are 1920x1080.
-Sometimes the screen goes wonky with wavy lines.
-You need 8 AA batteries to power.
-Turning on/off requires long press of the power button which I really dislike because it's non-intuitive.
-The display screen is pretty small so you aren't going to have much field of vision and you can quickly get a headache staring at it.

Overall, this can be a fun toy to play around with for short periods of time but that's about it. With the small field of vision and the low resolution, it's not something that is going to have much useful value. If you live out in the country or go camping regularly, it could be interesting to have these when you hear strange noises outside.
