we always think the black wire is ground and white is hot. it is reverse on these and took me a bit to figure it out after i kept checking other problems when i could not get them to work

They come in a pack of four and they're pretty bright. I installed them on a 19 foot Grady white open cockpit. I mounted them on a 2" piece of azek plastic facia board and epoxied it to the underside of the Gunwhale.
Two on each side of the cockpit provide enough light to wash down the boat at night but I would recommend four on each side for night fishing. They are easy to install but make sure that positive and negative leads are correctly installed or they will not light. Supposedly they are completely waterproof and since they are LED they will probably last almost forever. So for very few bucks they are a good value.
