Nice keyboard
It was pretty sick ✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 14, 2023
Be careful with the key caps
opinions after a couple of years of constant use

I bought this keyboard because I liked the TTY keycaps and was interested in cherry brown switches. I meant to order the high-profile case style, but got the low profile instead, which turns out to have been a happy accident.

I'm not really a keyboard enthusiast, but when I was fortunate to get to work on many of the classic 90s unix workstations with mechanical keyboards and a number of now-classic terminals, Lears, VT100s, and so on. When I saw the Drop TTY keycaps, I had to have a set.

The reason I decided to write a review is that today my idiot cat knocked over a mug of coffee on my desk and it went straight into the keyboard. So I figured-- now we'll see whether this thing is made well or not. Although it's a bit tedious, the fact that a person can pull all the keycaps and switches, take out a few screws, and have the thing completely disassembled is amazing. There was coffee everywhere inside, but the printed circuit board is coated in some kind of plastic so it wiped right off. A few of the keyswitches had coffee inside, but it was easy to blow it out with some compressed air, and worst case if the switch goes bad, I can just pop it out and replace it. In this case, the wet switches were on my arrow keys, and even though they seem to be working fine, I swapped their positions with some rarely used keys on the board. In fact, being able to reposition the keyswitches when reassembling the keyboard is nice since it allows you to spread the wear on the switches.

As I mentioned, I wound up being really fond of the low profile case style, because all of the horrific debris that winds up under the keycaps doesn't make it down to the interior of the case, so it's relatively easy to pull the keycaps, blow the junk off, and then stick the caps back on.

Finally, I don't really care about the LEDs, so it's nice that you can disable them with a firmware flash if you like.

I type on this thing all day every working day, so although it's not an inexpensive option, as long as the PCB keeps working, any keyswitch failures would just involve swapping out a switch, so I suspect I may have this thing for a long time, and its kinda nice to have something that lasts when it comes to computer work.
Beautiful Keyboard. Expensive, but high quality
monahuang✓ Verified PurchaseJune 17, 2023
This keyboard is beautiful. I am a programmer, and I was previously using a more mechanical keyboard with Cherry switches. I got the Halo Clears, and typing is as smooth as butter. I love the way this keyboard looks and feels. I have had handful of keyboards in the past, mostly gaming keyboards, ranging from high to low end. This is my favorite keyboard. I use it mostly for typing, I have not had any time to try out gaming on it, but I would imagine that the keyboard would perform just as well.
The Perfect Keyboard

I am probably the pickiest person when it comes to things I like or are really important to me and a while ago some keys on my old keyboard weren't working so I start looking online. I wanted a keyboard with just the right actuation for me, I needed RGB, and I didn't want the numpad. This keyboard was literally perfect for me, it has a bunch of different functions and RGB patterns and speeds, i absolutely LOVE the material, one of the best parts. The sound of the keyboard was one of the most important to me, i got the silvers and it sounds amazing, I didn't want too clicky and i didn't want too buttery and this was the perfect middle ground. Perfect size, Perfect feel, there are TWO spots to plug the keyboard in depending on what you want to do with your cable management. Overall it is just great and not to mention extremely easy to swap the keys out, I changed my escape key to a custom key and it could be done by a kid with how easy it was. If or when this one gets old, I will for sure be buying this again.
4.5 stars!

The media could not be loaded. To get right to the point, reason I gave it 4.5 and not 5 is because the price obviously, and my rgb seems to reset after turning on and off my pc (it's only supposed to reset if you unplug the USB C). Not deal breakers since you can see in the video I posted how easy and convenient it is to change your lighting.

Anyways to the review...
It's. An. Amazing. Dang. KEYBOARD.

It's a great piece for your desk and looks professional and not some 13 year olds gaming keyboard. It's classy.

Also it feels SOLID (hence the very very hefty price) and whenever I have people come over it always catches their attention and they just want to touch it. I love the reaction every time lol makes me feel better about the price.

This is by far my favorite keyboard I have ever purchased and now I am a giant fan of halo true switches. I have tried a dozen different keyboards and switches throughout the years and This first time ever I've never thought about even looking at keyboards on amazing again.

If you can get past the price then I recommend it but if you want quality you gotta pay quality (that's how I see it). This keyboard looks like something Apple would have put out if they got into the gaming scene for real.
