This is an eco-friendly product that is better than the regular version that we have used in the past that we purchased at Costco. It does seem more durable on both the sponge side and the scrubber side, so I am impressed. This pack is going to last a long time.

I keep these on hand all the time. I'm picky about sponges. I want one in the sponge rack at my kitchen sink at all times but I have anxiety about contamination so I need to be able to change it out on the regular. I need a lot of quality sponges for not a lot of money and these fit the bill. I spend a lot of time with these sponges because I do a lot of dishwashing...and I just don't think I can say enough good things! 😆 Is it sad I have such strong feelings about kitchen sponges? 100%. For the cost of these sponges, the fact they don't smell after you use them for three days (like other brands) and they're biodegradable makes this a no brainer. If they do break down as well as they claim, honestly, I don't see why our government doesn't enforce manufacturers to use the same technique for all similar products. Why not make it more environmental friendly if you're not losing the quality?

These perform every bit as good as the big name plastic sponges, but without any plastic!

I bought these after reading that the big name sponges (Scotchbright, etc.) are made of plastic. I quickly envisioned bits of plastic going down the drain, some of them microplastics which are not filtered by sewage systems and would then enter the ocean, adding to the pollution. I expected these sponges to perform worse, but it was a tradeoff I was 100% happy to make.
And to my great surprise, I'm still on sponge #1, and its performing every bit as well as the ones I used to buy. I run it through the dishwasher every time we wash dishes, and it has come out in perfect shape. I use the scrubbing side for tough cleaning, and its every bit as good as the plastic ones.
And, doing the math, these sponges are cheaper than the plastic ones from the big names. So, what's not to like? Ecologically-friendly, great performance, and cheaper... I'm a convert.
(Oh, and these are compostable when they finally do fall apart; my county runs an industrial scale composting operation that will get temperatures high enough to break down this sponge. So there's no waste, either.)
And to my great surprise, I'm still on sponge #1, and its performing every bit as well as the ones I used to buy.
