I have a hardness meter and the comparable score was accurate to gauge. I needed the ph also, and find that it was acceptable result.
Here's the thing about most test strips in general. Once they leave the manufacturer facility in their sealed cocoon, the next environment you expose them too (air temp - humidity level - handling) will affect (alter) the reading over time. (Think opened & stale crackers)! That is why it's best to buy the smaller minimum count bottle of test strips so you reduce exposure events and accuracy results!
If you want to test this theory, buy two (same lot #)
and leave one sealed, storing them in the same place. When you have exhausted over 3/4 of the first bottle, open the other one and do a test (together) on the same water sample at the same time! You will have your answer at that moment as the visual of color change will be at a different rate of change or shade!

I had a couple of my previous strips from the pool shop and I compared the two at the same time. The readings were same so I'd say good quality !
Very easy to use. Store in cool, dry place. Dip and wait about 60 seconds and it'll show how your balance is! I have been using for a couple months and there is zero color bleeding.
