Seat uncomfortable

This was easier to put together than I thought it'd be. The problem I have is that I had to buy a new seat. The seat that comes with the bike hurts like awfully bad.
This is the bike you want

We're really happy we chose this bike. We spent a ton of time researching every option out there, but this was the clear winner. The lean feature is amazing. It really does work your core. It's a better workout and a better feeling ride. It's feels more natural. The JRNY app also is also a huge win for us. We're not the type of people that want to listen to a coach every single time. That gets old real fast. We chose this platform because it's WAYYY cheaper than most others and they give you an entire year for free vs $30-$40 per month for most others. But, most importantly, their app has the streaming platforms. Most of the time, we just put on HBO Max or Netflix or Disney+ and pedal away. And, if we want to change it up, we do some virtual rides. They have tons of options from popular sites all over the world. I would be so mad if I spent more money on the brand that starts with a P and ended up getting bored with the coaches. With that one, you don't have other options. With this one, we can do coaches, virtual rides, or streaming. For us, it's not even close. This is the way.
Not all exercise cycles are equal

I've had multiple exercise bikes over the years and after a while they all became became dust collectors. The Bowflex VeloCore is unique and has me anticipating my next ride. I have read other reviews that the lean function is a gimmick. I totally disagree. The lean function provides a great addition to the workout. I think "Lean" is a misnomer. It is a serious pull and hold more than a lean. I find it to be very effective in my workouts. The spinning mechanism is very fluid and the resistance very smooth and linear. My only complaint has been the seat and the heart rate monitor. No body (or butt) is the same and I recommend finding a seat that fits you, especially for long rides. That's not to say the standard seat will not be right for you. It just didn't work for me. My heart rate monitor does not always connect via Bluetooth to the console, not a dealbreaker for me since I track my heat rate with a different device. I have been so impressed with the Bowflex product that I am looking at other technology from the company for future purchases (Max Total and Revolution).
The JRNY app (free for the first year) offers multiple options for your ride. It offers recommended virtual coach programs based upon your ability and progress, pre-programmed rides based upon time and difficulty, instructor led training, videos of landscapes from around the world that you can ride through as both virtual programs or at your own pace. It will also allow you to stream your favorite video services, HBO Max, Disney +, Hulu, Netflix or Amazon Prime. It also has streaming music from all genres and decades. It records all of your rides in a Journal that allows to to track your progress (time, calories, distance, burn rate, resistance) it also allows you to setup goals and tracks them plus so much more.
I held off on writing this review for a while so that I could have enough miles on the machine to make an informed and accurate review, Bottom line is I am very happy with my purchase and only regret is that I didn't get it sooner.
Great quality and good workout - poor technology

I got this for a great price which is what prompted my to buy it. Both myself and my wife use the bike regularly and we like it a lot. I bought a cheap pair of cycling shoes and attached the included peddle clips and it works great.
The bike is well built and the ride is smooth. While you can easily change the resistance by turning a knob while riding, this is manual only and the various pre-programmed workouts don't change this, they just display the target cadence (cycling speed) on the screen and you need to peddle harder to speed up.

The bike took some time to assemble but was not overly difficult. The thing is heavy so make sure you unpack it first and move it in sections. However, the main bike is still very heavy even when disassembled.

The weak point of the bike is the low quality android-based device which provides the display. It is very slow, not very well designed from a UI perspective and needs constant updates. It even periodically kicks you out and requires that you log in again with a username and password that you have likely forgotten since it is just an exercise bike in one's own house!!
The speakers ae poor and it DOES NOT WORK WITH THE ANDROID PELATON APP. This is probably the fault of peloton being too lazy to build a proper android app but it doesn't work with this bike.

So overall, if you find this thing for a good price, buy it. It is a quality exercise bike with a poor android phone bolted on to it.
Solid Bike, But with Terrible Customer Service
Matt M✓ Verified PurchaseJune 29, 2023
I really like this bike - and the accompanying JRNY app. The bike itself feels solid and I like how many different workouts it comes with. I also like the leaning feature as it really does give you a good core workout. I'm removing one star due to BOWFLEX's TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. There was an issue with the sensor on my bike, and after promising several appointment windows, I needed up needing to fix it myself (or wait several months). They were very non-communicative about the problem and ignored several emails, and when I called, they'd apologize - but they kept making promises about a technician showing up which never happened. Huge shout out to Tye-Mart (where I ordered it) who helped me get the issue solved so I didn't have to actually return the bike - order from them if you can!
