We tried everything imaginable to keep mice and rats away from our vehicles, but nothing worked. We live in a rural area, so there is no shortage of mice and rats. I found Loraffe's products on Amazon and decided to give them a try. Well, no more mice and rats! They would leave droppings on top of our engines in our cars, but no more! And we would occasionally see a mouse or rat in our garage, but no more! Purchase the Loraffe products and you can forget about mice and rats. I am a VERY HAPPY user of their products!

I moved into what seemed like a beautiful apartment last February. Within a week, it was as if every mouse in the county decided to set up shop in my ultra clean apartment (surely they were already here, unbeknownst to me, most likely living in the walls). Horrifying. I have lost 15 lbs. in 8 months because I am too afraid to cook, so I go to my daughter's house to eat when I'm not too tired. I haven't even properly unpacked because I know I am not staying, so my home is basically the way I moved in 8 months ago, everything in plastic bins with tight tight seals . Building maintenance accused me of bringing them in myself (nigh impossible according to mouse behavior, they follow their well-trod pathways of which they've probably been inhabiting this building for years. My last home of 13 years was 100 years old, and I never saw a mouse). Monthly exterminator visits, a total of 72 sticky traps (ugh hate those), pheromone attractant, snap traps, steel wool plugged everywhere, Peppermint oil, plug-in deterrents... and they still appeared right before my eyes almost every night. Clearly this building is infested, and the quality of my life has taken a real downturn at a time when all our lives are drastically affected by a pandemic. This was extra. Never caught one single mouse in any of these traps/deterrents. I am terrified of mice, have lived many places in my 60+ years and never encountered anything so awful. So I saw this product and thought, why not, something different, and I'm beyond desperate. Since I started using this Loraffe, I haven't seen any mice. It has been THE ONLY THING that has worked! It's a multi - deterrent with high pitched piercing noise mice hate (and humans/pets (including my dog) can't hear, a separate function for flashing lights if you choose that, and also predatory sounds (cats, owls, etc.) you can choose on button #3 (there are 3 options in this unit). I only have 4 more months on my lease, and I am getting the hella outta here then, but I'm happy at least my last 4 months in this horrible place I probably won't have to see mice scurrying across the room and leaving droppings, and nearly giving me a heart attack each time. Putting in a rodent walk path with LEDs on will block them, they don't like it.

The sounds do nothing, whatsoever, to deter rodents.

I installed two of these in my attic about three months ago and I believed it facilitated the departure of at least one rat, so for that I am ecstatic. The device has three mechanisms for repelling rodents - ultrasonic noises, sounds that attempt to replicate predators, and bright flashing Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The sound choices are selected via a rotary switch, but the LED operation is controlled by a separate button, and if the power goes out or the device is unplugged, the LEDs won't automatically re-start when the power is restored. I think the LEDs are probably the most effective part of this device in deterring rodents from taking up residence nearby. I did follow the advice of another reviewer and devised a way to keep the LED control button pressed, and it appears to work but its awkward. Another awkward thing is the general shape of the device - its designed to sit on its base, but has no provisions for mounting it other than that, and I think it is more effective if it is higher in the room with fewer obstacles to block the LED light and attenuate the sounds. One other weirdness about this product is that the instruction manual implies that the top part of the product mechanically rotates, but it does not. The LEDs are on the top and they have a flashing pattern that changes sides periodically, but there is no mechanical rotation. Overall, if this product has been as successful as I think it has, it appears to be worth the money spent.

Some things i learnt when setting it up which I wish I had known before purchase
1) According to the reading material provided, the ultrasonic feature is blocked by walls and heavy items, so that placement has to be carefully considered. Since my rats like to hang out in the space in my walls and in the kitchen cabinets, this was a bit of a challenge for me. I had initially planned to place it where they run. Instead I had to set it up in an open area which they may cross enroute to the walls.
2) the reading material also says shouldn't be exposed to the elements so can't place it on the deck
Also note: the animal noise feature is definitely not for use indoors! You will not get any rest, even at low volumes.
I set it up a week ago, set it on the #2 setting ( dual feature) and am waiting to see the results. The reading material says that it may take about 20 days to reduce the rat population so if I notice a difference I shall update my review accordingly.
