Worked great!
Ranger Dan✓ Verified Purchase•January 30, 2024
I got the large size for walking both of my 70 pound Labs on one leash. It worked flawlessly, and the large handle it very comfortable. It retracts smoothly and quickly, and the locking mechanism works well, even with 2 large dogs.
Great Leash - only one complaint
Harold Fagley✓ Verified Purchase•January 29, 2024
I love how strong this leash is and that, with the strap design (rather than a string), it never gets caught in bricks or other entanglements that have happened with other leashes. I also like how large the clamp is. It is very easy to clamp and unclamp with gloves on in the winter.
My only complaint is that when the strap is pulled to the side it can get snagged in the reel. It is not hard to free it but it is annoying to have my dog run backwards for a moment and the have the leash go slack instead of reeling back in.
Overall, I still give it five stars. It is well designed and the other retractable leashes I have used have many more issues.

Well made for our 13 lb. darting dog

Three reasons I'm writing this review:
1. Giving my dog a good walk every day is non-negotiable.
2. I use a leash every day, and IMHO, it's worth it to have proper equipment
3. A leash is for your dog's safety and the safety of others who could be impacted by an off-leash dog. (I would never install a cheaply made seat belt in my car; why would I cheap out on a leash for my dog?)
After using (and breaking or not being able to repair) several other retractable leashes, this is the first retractable leash I'm writing a review for. Here's what I appreciate:
1. It's well-made and well-designed - sturdy handle, tough no-rip leash
2. The "teeth" that prevent the leash from rolling and twisting when it retracts are brilliant. My last leash got tangled inside the housing, and I couldn't repair it without breaking the housing.
3. If I need to fix it, it comes apart, and I could do the job myself instead of having to throw it away or buy a replacement.
4. The locking mechanism consistently works - both the "lock" and "unlock" features.
My dog is a 13-lb Shih Tzu-poodle. I used to walk her with a 6-foot leash, but she stops to mark at nearly every vertical object and a retractable leash allows me to keep my pace going, and she can catch up when she's ready.

So far so good

It works great with taking the dogs for walks and it does what it's supposed to do.
Honestly my house is always chaotic and some days it's really hard. Besides my 2 teenagers always fighting and my toddler tryin to escape, we also have 2 out of our 3 pits who like to run and aren't friendly to strangers. So some days when we are the worst and everyone is losing their mind and a dog has to potty we can't take them out to tie them up or walk them and it's convenient to just grab the Tug leash and put it on one of the dogs open the door they walk out we shut in the door and they walk to yard do their business then bark for us to let them back in.
I wouldn't advise it for everyone else. It just works for us. We own our home and property and no one lives close to us. I also have cameras that show my porch and yard to see my dogs while outside. They are perfectly safe and the leash can retract and everything easily because we actually have a pretty big sized gap where the door closes so the leash isn't being rubbed or anything. Even if we didn't have the It still looks brand new.
We've had probably 50 or more retractable leashes over the past 10 yrs, this one has been my favorite. Our dogs are very strong and the last thing you want is to be on a walk and your dog get loose. It's also not the first retractable leash we tried to use like this. But it is the best one. The others have randomly gotten stuck a lot or isn't as strong as it needs to be for our dogs. They got tangled so easily that I was throwing away over $20 every time I got one and it failed
Im actually now ordering each dog a different color of these leashes so my kids can stop arguing over them for their dogs and an extra one for the car.
Oh there is also a free gift, atleast with mine. Nothing big just a small attachment I actually use ours for when bathing the dogs in the bathtub to keep them in there and jump out.
Will update if later we have issues with the product or if we still love it.

Good for strong dogs

My dog is a lot stronger than he looks and weighing only 40 some pounds he can still bring me to a halt! This lead is very strong, but not entirely tangle proof. Occasionally it will bind because the lead got flipped.
Fairly easy to resolve thus far. Handle is pretty ergonomic and lock feature works well.
