I LOVE THESE LIGHTS

Ok. Seriously. I love these so much. The thing I love the most is the hue scenes. You can not do that with the other bulbs that are cheaper. These are expensive. Worth it in a room where you have a lot of lights and want to use them for ambiance.

There are a ton of things to like about these bulbs. There are lots of different presets of color combinations to choose from, you can set alarms on the lights so the lights are on by the time you have to get out of bed, and you can turn off the lights FROM bed, which is sooo nice.
There are definitely some downsides that come from having essential life items be smart devices. You have to always have your bluetooth on to use these. That means if you disconnect it on accident, or need to put on battery saver mode: you're disconnected from the lights in your home and you'll need to reconnect them before you can use them. Kind of a downer.
Also, if your phone is older than Android 10 (I'm sure there is an equivalent for Apple) you straight up cannot get the app from the store. It's just not available for you. I learned this only after buying these lights, and thankfully my partner has a newer phone and is able to control them -- but if he isn't home then I simply don't get to turn on/off the lights or alter them at all. Obviously that's a bit of a let down.
We also could not get these to connect to our Google Home no matter what we tried. Not sure if that's just because we don't have a Hub, or because our Google Home hates us, but beware it might not work for you either.
But ultimately I am glad we got these. Being able to choose the vibe of the room with the colors at any time is nice

Pricey, but awesome. Stay patient and look for sales whether on Amazon or the Philips website. Set up in both the Philips Hue app and Amazon Alexa for device recognition is easy. Looking forward to installing these lights as well as an echo device for respective control of lights in each room of the house.
