This item would be much better if it had a soft close system. I saw a few reviews of people having a hard time installing these hinges. For me it was pretty simple even though the directions didn't give much direction.

Holds up a 15lb lid on an old record console. Would also work well for chests, or toy boxes that you want the lid to stay open. Just don't take the hinge apart, you'll never get it back together.

Decent replacement for Ikea (Ferrari) hinges

Not a straight replacement for Ikea hinges, but mostly does the job. Biggest issue is the offset on the bracket is different, so you need to move the bracket over to avoid it hitting the box when folding. It would have been *great* if they just fit on the Ikea brackets, but they're a little too big.

Great Product, Terrible Instructions

I was pleasently surprised by how well it worked. I had a shelf that only had a 9" opening, and most of the other ones I saw needed at least 10". They are an absolute pain to try to figure out how to install. It comes with two different dimension placements for angle opening and I saw another review that those weren't even the right dimensions. Also, they are not "mirrors" and only showed one sided installation so it was very confusing. We did a lot of guess and check. Once it got installed we were able to tighten it to actually be able to hold open at 110Â° and 30-45Â°. And it doesn't need a lot of force to close it. I now love how they worked out.

Edit to add: after a few months i realized one of the hinges is broken at the threaded piece so it keeps coming undone from the piece attached to the wood. I have to reattach every month and a half or so.
