This is a centrifuge machine for laboratory use. It has a footprint of 11.5"x10.5" and stands 9" high. The description says it will accept up to 12 tubes in sizes 2/5/7/10 ml. Controls are on the front, and include speed and time as well as on/off. It has speeds of 500 to 4,000 rpm and can be set to run up to 99 minutes.
We are quite pleased with the performance and portability of this centrifuge. We needed a portable centrifuge for our mobile lab. This centrifuge does the job. It's great that it can handle up to 12 samples at once, which allows good throughput. The operation is quiet and the device does not show signs of heavy vibration as long as the samples are properly balanced. Our issue with the machine is that the inserts do not fit our tubes. Although the description says the machine will work with 2-10 ml tubes, the problem is that the inserts only fit 5-7 ml tubes, and even then we have to be careful that the tubes and caps are the right height so that are neither too tall nor likely to fly off. So if you are working with exactly 5-7 ml tubes, this centrifuge works great. But other sizes simply won't work with the inserts that come with this machine. Also note that the timing isn't quite accurate. Overall, this centrifuge works well for 5-7 ml tubes, but you do need to watch the timing.
