This guitar stand locks, not like Hercules but good enough, and otherwise is very well built. Heavy, well padded, easy height adjustment. Save the money and buy this instead of Hercules.

I needed a new stand that would securely support my Lakland 44-60 bass, and properly cradle/hang instruments with asymmetrical headstocks. My old Ultra folding stands still look and function as new after 20+ years, but are lacking in both these areas....good for guitars, but not enough extension for long scale bass instruments; and has fixed yoke for the neck. I settled upon giving this Guitto GGS-06 stand a try after using the 'H' brand at church and not being happy with them, or the numerous reports of gunk and funk from the cushions breaking down on the supports.

The Guitto stand is perfect to fulfill both my objectives in upgrading from the old stands 'Ultra' I have. The tubing is about twice the diameter of the old stands, has a wider footprint for stability if you open them up all the way, yet doesn't weigh perceptibly more than my old ones. The locking neck yoke support is wonderful in the Guitto. With, for example a Les Paul, just a folding yoke stand supports both sides of the headstock evenly, thus properly supporting the weight of the instrument; but that won't work for many other designs where one side of the headstock is cut differently than the other. The Guitto GGS-06 adjusts marvelously and supports both sides. The factory box says "Silica gel" cushions, which are non-marring. That locking detent in the neck support rod is also great to insure the yoke isn't going to slip down like some will after moderate use.

I like the Guitto GGS-06 so well that I bought a second one for my PRS Silver Sky a week later, as it too, has an asymmetrical headstock. Now the weight is supported on both sides and isn't putting undue pressure on one side of the neck, same with my bass guitar. I'm not sure of the durability of the Polyamide used in some of the parts and I have no idea of the warranty support Guitto has, but we'll see.

I did see some complaints online about the neck yoke of the GS-6 not being in line with the front of the stand. Both of my stands came that way....maybe 3-5 degrees off-center....but I was able to easily adjust that by gently but firmly rotating that polyamide locking collar by hand (and supporting the tube with my other hand) on the vertical tube just enough for bring it to center. Done.

So yes, I bought one, then bought a second one a week later....and wouldn't hesitate (at this point in time, anyways) to purchase a few more. I'm giving 4 and not 5 stars for only two reasons: (1) I don't have much time on these yet and (2) IMO, though simple to adjust, it would be better had the polyamide locking grip assembly be centered, and not slightly offset from the factory. I really like that my instrument's weight is now even supported from both sides of the neck, too.... so both of my objectives were solved in purchasing the Guitto GGS-06 stands.

I've been frustrated by the quality and design of guitar stands for like, ever. When I saw this one, it looked to have some cool features. That's an understatement. It is simply the best thought out, high quality, and versatile stand ever. Out of the package, deploy the legs, adjust the height, and you're good to go. The stand will adjust enough in height to accommodate a bass. I was so pleased that I ordered two more for my jam room. If you're a performer, you'll find that you can keep the plug in cord well out of the way if you hang the guitar while still plugged in. Since it's a hanger style rather than a cradle, the body of the guitar rests gently against the two padded front legs. As you can see by the telecaster in the photo, the guitar leans back for a super stable config. Nice job, folks.

This stand can't be beat for this price. It's solid and comparable to the big name brand which I've also owned. It's heavier than expected and height is adjustable for whatever instrument you've got. Highly recommend.

Very well built. Almost as nice as the Hercules Stand, but cheaper. Would buy again!!!
