This works perfect for our newly diagnosed dog. We use it with the burgundy lancets and the purple ring on his back at the base of his tail after warming up with a rice sock. We shave a square of his fur each week to keep it short to get good suction. Our dog doesn't even mind having his BG taken anymore. We also found the monitor to be accurate and reliable if used correctly and one our vet recommended.

My cat is very big and very aggressive with people he doesn't know, so the vet is totally unable to take blood samples. That's why I was looking for a painless device to do it at home. It took us one week to use it correctly. Before this, my cat got many bruises on his ear, as shown on the photos, and we used many strips. It still happens sometimes but much less often. It's painless, my cat doesn't feel the lancet, but of course he doesn't appreciate to be constrained. Fortunately, the process is fast now, and the readings are in accordance with the urine tests, so I would recommend this product (of course it would be nice if the strips were less expensive).
