I don't know what the problem is, but I know others have also mentioned it - at least 10 of the plates in each of my 2 packages were cracked. By the time it was discovered, we were at the event, so I couldn't do anything about it. It was embarassing - The boxes used for shipping seemed of good quality, but there wasn't much padding. These plates are hard plastic - they probably shatter as they get bounced around during shipping... Other than the ones that were broken, they are really pretty - I bet they would survive the dishwasher a couple of times.

These red rimmed tableware are still very beautiful.I use them at my Christmas parties. I love the deep red color, and how sturdy they are .The eating utensils keep their color and do not rub off ! I will definitely buy these again .
