Great multi-purpose tie-out

I bought this when looking for a tie-out to take camping. I have a pup who cannot be let off-leash and I need to ensure that the product is able to withstand his high-energy, rambunctious, rumble-tumble, and, at times, demonspawn behavior. I wasn't too sure how well it would hold up after I received it, especially when comparing it against the more traditional cable tie-outs. I was pleasantly surprised after using it daily during two camping trips.
During my first trip, I tried two different tie-outs. I used this one at my tent site, as well as a second higher quality, tougher rope leash in the lunch/gazebo area. The second rope leash is a great quality lead but it was a horrible tie-out and tangled in no time at all. Trying to figure out how my puppy pest kinked it all to heck so that I could free him was especially challenging after a few too many adult beverages. This one, however, was amazing. I was able to remove or reposition it w/ just as much ease as clipping it for the initial set-up. No kinks, no tangles. I quickly started using only this one for the rest of the trip, carrying it from spot to spot to be available when needed.
Regardless, I was concerned that it wouldn't be durable. It's extremely lightweight, fairly thin, and my pup did manage to chew off the rubber piece in no time at all. I decided to test it out again during a second trip where it continued to exceed my expectations. This tie-out is lightweight enough that it was easily transported across different sites. At times, I just draped it around my neck while walking the pup. It was during this trip that I also tested out other uses:
- Long line: It rocked this purpose, too. Pup had a blast, repeatedly looking back at me to check as if he wasn't sure that he was actually still connected. He could roam to his heart's content, and it didn't catch on anything despite there being ample features around to be snagged given the desert landscape.
- Hands-free tether: I clipped one end around my waist and attached the other to the pup. This provided so much more freedom and flexibility!
- Secondary/double leash: My pup is a primitive breed. He loves to pull. Although he is improving, he continues to have moments of channeling his inner demonpup to GOGOGOOOO! I used this as a tether to me in addition to his primary leash, and it worked beautifully.
I love its brilliant color, weight, and multi-functional use so much so that I anticipate eventually picking up another for ease of convenience. I have a different longer, long line that I also suspect will be replaced w/ a longer version of this tie-out. If the clips were replaced w/ locking carabiners (due to my paranoia w/ an escape artist), it would be almost perfect.

So I bought this back in August and wanted to make sure I'd leave feedback after some time has gone by. This rope works great for my dog and so far for 4 months has held up through the rain and sun. My small 30 lb beagle has snapped other ropes that were for dogs 60lbs and up. This has a bit of give so it stretched when she'd reach the end. Just bought 2 more so I can replace the cable ones because after a few months the plastic cracks and raid gets inside and it starts to rust. I don't have a fenced yard so I rely on these leads being durable for my pups activities it's also very light weight until it gets wet then it absorbs water. We shall see how winter goes.
These are extremely strong!

I've had a pair of these for over a year. My dogs are extremely tough on them. These sir throughout the year in heat, cold, snow and rain. Most of the time they sit in a puddle of water. I can't believe how durable they are. One is just beginning to fray and I'll be replacing it with is this same style. I have two 20 footers and again they are durable. They do not rot or rust like those crappy plastic coated wire ones.
Do yourself a big favor and grab one of these. Extremely inexpensive and even in the roughest conditions they perform!!

Great quality. Our first order of 2 ropes lasted almost 2 years. Strong but soft on my blue healers. I would recommend these for sure.
Works well

I had to start using this every time my 75 lb boxer goes outside. We don't have a fence and he roams... neighbors do not appreciate this! It holds up well in all weather and I did buy the bungee extension to help w/shock, if he's running too fast. I clip it to his harness. I first bought the 30 ft in my backyard and 50 ft in my front yard, I prefer the 50 ft. b/c it gives him plenty of radius to run around and have fun safely. It's durable and strong, so I don't think I'll have to buy another one for quite some time but I will, when the time comes.
