Very nice - but trial and error in fit

I was attracted to this particular pair of fleece lined pants because they stated they were Slim.
I originally ordered a size per measurements from the chart and it was really, really big. They didn't offer a length short enough for me (the shortest being 30") so I planned that I would have to shorten them, but it was huge all over and the waist size would have never stayed up.
I returned and reordered with a waist size that was 4 inches smaller than I originally ordered. That size fit pretty good and had the slimmer look (not tight, just without billowing fabric) that I wanted - something I could wear on cold days to run errands. The material is very nice and looks durable. The zippered pockets are nice (even though the back pockets are hard to get into.)
If I planned to wear multiple layers for working outside, I would probably have been o.k. with just a 3 inch reduction in the original waist size.

Perfect except for the seam at the knee

I love the feel of these pants and the weight of them is perfect. They are very comfortable as they come up higher on the waist and the length for me as a 5'5 person is perfect. Everything would be great and I would be excited to have them except for one thing. There is a seam that runs above the knees that is very noticeable when you wear them. I have no idea why they can't figure out a way to eliminate that, but I did read someone else's review about the same but thought it can't be that bad. It is. I'm going to have to return them because I cannot imagine hiking for eight hours with it rubbing on my knee. Besides that they would be the perfect pair of pants- super high-quality. I was also debating on what size to get because when I measured my waist it looked like I should get a size 28 (size 8) although I'm really a size 6 which would've been 27. But I wanted them to be a little bit baggy for layering so I got 28. I made the right choice. The 6 would've fit perfectly but no layering room. I'm 5'5 and weigh 128.
UPDATE
So I ordered three different brands of these types of pants the same day I ordered this one. The second pair came in today. There is also a seam in that one that is even more annoying. Apparently I'm not familiar with how these pants are supposed to feel. I put on a pair of leggings and try these back on and it is much much better. So I would say it's still irritating if you're not gonna wear anything under them. If you're going to wear a pair of the leggings underneath them they should be fine. I'll probably end up keeping these and returning all the others. The other brand was Lil Donkey? Something like that. I ordered a medium and they were much more baggy than these if you are trying to decide between the two as they seem very comparable.

Perfect fit and love the sleek tapered/slim leg styling

Bought a pair of 30Wx30L a year ago, and I knew going in that it would be too long since I am 5'2". I bought this size base on the waist measurement. But it is just too loose. I am 120 lb and normally a Medium, P8 and occasionally P6 and Small depending on the style and cut. Since I really love the tapered slim fit styling, the fleecy material on the inside and the somewhat wind proof material on the outside, I decided to buy a 28Wx30L pair to see if it fits better, with the intent to hem the legs. Turns out this pair fits perfectly! The length is at least 1.5 " shorter than the 30Wx30L, and the waist is nice and snug without feeling constricted. Maybe the looser fit is to allow for another base layer to wear for skiing. Since I only wear this for walking around downtown in Maine cold weather, the smaller size fits perfectly. Love the slim fit and it works well with short booties. Love the single layer material keeping me warm without any bulk like those flannel lined jeans. The pockets are slanted and positioned in the front rather than the sides, which I think make the pants more sleek. The only thing I don't like is the stiff edge of the pockets. Otherwise perfect for me. So go for a smaller size unless you like a very loose fit.
These pants are great!

I have had these pants for about 3 weeks and they are great.
FIT - Probably my only complaint is that they are pretty high waisted which is why I gave it 4 stars. I prefer a midrise. The inner layer is pretty fitted. The outler layer is a little looser, but not too much. I've worn them solely tucked into snow boots.
Look-
I bought these because I knew I needed to be outside in Iowa in January for work in front of my client. They are a little fitted or they feel a little fitted. But my mom commented that they looked nice and no one these field trips I took said anything about how I looked. So i give it an A on looks. I can get away with wearing them to work on crazy cold days.
Durabilty-
I have yet to wear them hiking or significant outdoor activity, but I have worn them probably 10 times in 3 weeks including 3 days in a row. They have maintained their outside look and inside feel despite wearing them 3 days in a row without washing.
Warmth-
They are warm. I have stood outside in them in 20 degree weather for 40 minutes and been fine (and I am typically cold..my feet were cold in my snow boots in the same weather). I walked 2 blocks when the windchill was -50F and that was a little much for the pants. But I could tell they cut the wind and were much better than anything else in my wardrobe, but obviously-50F is a little much to expect out of any clothing.
Conclusion, I am very happy with the pants. I hope to go hiking in them soon, but my original reason for purchase was for a couple of work meetings acceded outside in January in Iowa and they were great for that and then have been great throughout the latest record breaking cold. They look nice enough to handle a business casual environment where we are encouraged to not wear jeans and even my mom who is rather formal thinks the pants look good and is planning on ordering herself a pair. (I'm 37 and she is 69, so we are so not cool, but the pants are still great).

Pretty good for taking the edge off the wind and cold
utopiachick✓ Verified Purchase•September 18, 2023
Living in the upper midwest, I usually stay indoors from about November until at least mid March. But not this year. Thanks to continuing to be stuck with nothing to do thanks to Covid, I decided that this was the year for me to get outside in the winter for walks, hikes, etc. When I wore these pants when it was in the 30's out, they definitely were warm enough to actually sweat in. Between 20 - 29 degrees, they are fine on their own, taking the edge off the cold but not to the point of sweating. Between 10 and 19 degrees, they are definitely warmer than jeans or leggings, but I felt more cold. However, wearing a base layer will start to sweat. And then anything under that definitely calls for a base layer. I have worn these out for walks when it was -15 degrees out and it made a 40 minute neighborhood walk tolerable. I have a teen at home who is way too sedentary thanks to Covid and distance learning and the shut down of everything. I have been insisting she go on 20 minute walks most days. So I bought her a pair of these pants also even though she told me she didn't want them. When they arrived and she tried them out for the first time, she stopped complaining about being "too cold".
