I had several ( a lot actually) of old cassette tapes that I wanted to convert to digital files. This little device did the job. And you can use it as a cassette player. As to how long it will work/last, only time will tell.

Now can play everything through one time and record for MP3. It is amazing how this very old technology still works, but after going through 20 tapes I was reminded why this medium isn't used anymore.
When you are only going to get a single good play through on a brand new tape from 20 years ago, its best to have this type of device to record it perfectly the first time.
Read the instructions over and over, then read them again. Its not super complicated, unless you need the complicated features.
