Works great, until the hook separates from the glue pad

I put special angled hinges on several doors to make them open and not obstruct the doorway, giving easier wheelchair access. But I couldn't find "self-closing" angled hinges to replace the one between the house and garage, which probably need to be self-closing for code. So I bought this, and it works great. Yesterday, though, the hook separated from the larger glue pad attached to the door. I had improperly assumed that the hook and pad were one piece, so at first I thought the hook had broken out of the pad, but closer examination indicated that they were two pieces glued together. Unfortunately, the hook's smaller area limits the amount of glue holding it to the pad. If the problem continues, I'll get a different hook that screws into the door.

Product is easy to install without damage to my walls/door. Product uses 3M adhesive for easy accessible use. If you don't want to have the hook connected, you can take it off easily to have your door stay open.
The product was originally put perpendicular to the hook and fell off, but when put horizontal it hasn't fallen off since. Great for dorm rooms and shared households.

We use this to close the bedroom door. I was sure it would pull off the wall or break the door. Neither have happened, it does exactly what it says. It is pretty noisy, think like a loud zipper noise. Its also STRONG so it will slam the door if you aren't careful.
