It took me a bit to figure out that circular motion worked best for sharpening with this stone. After that I was able to take out some deep divots in my axe and sharpen it in very little time without oil. The pouch is pretty cheap material but nice to have.

I spent a couple of weeks figuring out the proper angle and method. Biggest issue was that I had previously been using a different kind of sharpener, and the angles were way off. I can now keep the knife sharp with just a few minutes each week and it slices tomatoes easily without any snagging.
I tried using the included angle guide, but I found it easier to do without it once I figured it out.
