Key features

  • JAPANESE STYLE PULL SAW: This product is a "Pull Saw." What most people are used to are European saws, which cut materials via pushing, thus are called "push saws." On the other hand, Japanese saws cut materials via pulling and thus are called "pull saws," which is what this product is. In comparison to "push saws," "pull saws" are lighter in weight, requires less power, and the resulting edge is cleaner.
  • JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws are consisted of top quality japanese steel. It uses high quality Japanese steel, which makes cuts to be sharp.
  • MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN products are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. With a history of over 100 years in making japanese hand tools, all of the process gone into making tools were completed in one of Japan's towns known for their craft making tradition: Sanjō in Niigata
  • DIVERSIFY YOUR WOODWORKING LIFE: No matter you are a master or a beginner in using saws, it gives you brand new experience from using traditional Japanese style saws and enables you to make a wider variety of woodworking products, thus change your life!

Amazing control for handheld tool
William Knight✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 16, 2023
Was able to trim some tight joints and trim pieces for some cabinets I was building. It's wide flat blade offers some advantages of control that I have not experienced before with other to I own and use. The saw is sturdy and quality made with extremely sharp teeth of the blade. I know it's a tool used by artisans in Japan and I'm sure I'm not doing it justice. But it has proven useful and will keep it handy.
Best saws I've ever owned
Ron L✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 12, 2023
I stopped using my Western saws once I started using these Japanese saws. I own the dovetail and the 9.5 inch as well as this saw. They make a nice thin kerf and you can make straight cuts close to the line and you get a rip and cross cut in one saw (except for the dovetail saw). Great saws!!!
Great for making flush cuts and joinery
J. Hunt✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 15, 2023
I purchased the 6 inch version. I've used it mostly in joinery where I drill holes completely through both pieces of wood, push a dowel (with glue) through the hole, then saw off the dowel flush with the surface of the wood. This saw makes those flush cuts really easy and smooth. By putting the holes at a 45 degree angle in two directions I'm getting very solid joints with no screws or nails. It is also good for making dovetail and box joints, although I haven't used it as much for those . . . yet.
Cutting tabs on CNC router projects
David Stokely✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 7, 2023
Needed something better than a hand trim saw for cutting apart the tabs on my CNC router projects. This Japanese pull saw works perfectly. The very fine, very sharp teeth make short work of parting the tabs. Very glad I bought it.

One wish, I would like to have a plastic guard for the blade to slide into, to protect the saw, and me when it's not in use. It is very very sharp, and a flesh cutting danger when laying on the work bench.
HOW HAS IT TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO BUY ONE OF THESE?!?
Albert Markovski✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 30, 2023
Seriously. It's awesome. I don't know what I was thinking, I was using an oscillating multi-tool... which works... but this is just so much easier. And more satisfying. And less noisy. And I don't have to worry about burning/burnishing the wood with a dull oscillating tool blade.
